Speaking protagonist reduces the possibility of dialogue branches. The more the less the voice options. I think the main character of the game is to be silent in the first part. What do you think?

The protagonist is going to have voiced dialogue. You can see the Inquisitor speaking a couple lines in the new gameplay vids.

It was the right choice, IMO. I'd rather have a protagonist who feels like a fully fleshed out character with as much personality as the companions. You lose that if the companions are fully voiced but the protagonist isn't. That, and conversations feel a bit odd in that only one half speaks.

Characters do not speak in the classic Dungeons & Dragons games. Why should govarit in this. The closer to the DA1 DA3 will be better ..

Герои не говорят в Dungeons & Драгонс классических играх. Почему должны говарить в этой. Чем ближе DA3 будет к DA1 тем лучше ...

I love the speaking bits :)

Finally my dwarf or elf will have an actual voice

I'd love to have a silent protagonist back but it's unlikely
I don't mind though, it seems this time we'll have a good amount of dialogues

The fact that they're apparently doing it alongside race options has made me a little less ambivalent about it. I'm still rather fond of silent, but now it's 'Hmm...' rather than 'meh' for me.

Interesting! Could you expound further on that subject?

I see this thread going places.

I guess this game will help me decide. So far i don't mind but I would rather not be restricted because of the limitations. but who knows maybe it will work really well in Inquisition and then I'll love it.

I like talking protagonist because the conversion with silent protagonist is almost very passive usually result in "what do you think of that, inquisitor?". With voiced protagonist, it allows the protagonist to be more aggressive when talking.

The classic Dungeons and Dragons games were pnp. Why should we want to go back to those dark days?

I absolutely do not miss my cardboard Grey warden, one of the reasons I'd rather play DA2 than DAO

Dark days? You mean the Golden age of RPG?

I'll only like it if they have good VA. I hated DA2 Hawke voice acting, so that perversely soured my attitude about it. Hopefully they'll do better this time.

Absolutely awful in any real RPG™ however seeing that DA:I is merely an action game with RPG elements I don't mind.

Branching dialogue which expands roleplay and narrative options were never really Biowares thing even before they started it in Mass Effect. They had only a little bit of that in BGII, but that's about all.

Would have preferred a silent protagonist like DAO so I could roleplay the voice .
shrugs.
Can't always get what you want.

The player character is voiced. Please deal with it.

I like voiced protagonists. For some reason, silent ones just come off as dumb to me. All this crazy stuff is happening and all he/she can do is raise their eyebrows in alarm. It just comes off more as comedic than effective.

I seem to recall in all my old tabletop RPG sessions the protagonists always spoke. Sometimes they even spoke in character. It's getting back to the true roots of RPGs.
