1. The character design. I'm not sure if it's just due to early development or not, but the looks of the companinos, as well as the Inquisitor himself, is just unimpressive to me.
2. The gameplay feels like The Witcher. Now, this was something many people suggested, many people suggested against, but regardless, it's obvious that The Witcher is a strong influence. That's fine and all, but it seems, at least to me, that they're drawing 'too much' from The Witcher in combat style. Dragon Age should still have its own style, not just feel like addon content to another major game.
3. Combat seems to have a high prevalence to storyline. This is entirely fine, for now, as of course, you don't want to show boring dialogue and such at a demonstration. However, thus far, so very little has been confirmed or spoken of the overall story, of dialogue and interaction. I fear that, as with Mass Effect 3's route, it seems that combat, not story and characterization, which are the usual focal points of RPGs, is taking a one-up position. Some people may like this, some people may not, however, I do not personally think it's a good decision.
Again, not to be that guy, but I really am not falling in love at first sight with this game, and I feel like the only one who doesn't see these faults within the demonstration. Though it is a demonstration, of course, and much can improve, it's still bothering me. I'm not stating any of these criticisms as factual or de-jure problems; they're merely my opinion, and possibly mine alone, of the gameplay.
Does anyone else -not- feel so enthralled by the latest previews?
