I'm thinking Male Qunari Mage, first. Since their DA2 update, they are by far the coolest race IMO.

Human. I will eventually do playthroughs with elf and Qunari characters though.

Probably a female elf rogue. I'll probably change my mind a few times before the game comes out, and a few more when I'm actually in the character creator. Honestly, I don't know, but she will be a rogue.

Most humans in real life are boring.Jamie9 wrote...
They're the easiest race to relate to (obviously), and on a first playthrough I like to make the choices I'd probably make.mannitt wrote...
Yeah I wouldn't say boring or uncreative. At least unlike WOW, the humans do have interesting aspects. It is just a confusing thing though. Even though I will play one at some point. Just not initially.
Then on replays, I can choose other races and roleplay them as to how I think they'd react.
I'd also disagree that humans are boring. You and I are humans, after all, and everybody I talk to on a daily basis is a human.

I dunno. I find real life elves to be the most droll.cjones91 wrote...

I heartily disagree. I've met people I could talk to for days on end, such is their aptitude for conversation.cjones91 wrote...

Eventually all.
But human first. Now that I don't have to play human but can choose to, I'll gladly do.

If we don't have a Qunari then I'll play an Elf Mage
If we have a Qunari and we can have a Qunari mage then my first playthrough will be Qunari Mage. Also as a side note .. female for them both.

Playthrough 1: Male Dwarf
Playthrough 2: Female Dwarf
Playthrough 3: Male Qunari
Playthrough 4: Female Qunari
Rest of the playthroughs will probably be one of the above with a different build.
I'm just not a fan of human or elf characters. I've beaten DA: O about 10 times. I've only finished it once with a human and zero times with an elf. The rest have been dwarves. I've never even gotten an elf character past Ostagar (since I've only played them to see the origin story).

I have an idea about a female elven mage for the first time through.
That or a Dwarf. Either rogue or warrior is fine.

I can't decide... Human or Qunari. I'll have to wait and see what they look like in the customization screen and if they have any racial bonuses. I plan on playing all of them, though!

Human both genders then probably a female Qunari than a female elf.
Male human mage, female human warrior, female warrior Qunari, female rogue elf. most likely the order I'll do em in.

I was planning on playing a female dwarf first, but now I'm tempted to try qunari.
Not sure if male or female. I haven't seen any female Qunari yet but I somehow don't like the idea of playing a huge white-haired woman with tiny horns (the ones on the screenshots so far seemed extremely small). Male would definitely be cool to create and play, now that I somehow discovered my love for male PCs... though it would feel kind of weird to have a complete male protags only canon-import. ^^'
I used to never play male characters...

Oh hey, elves are a close third!
I figured the popularity would go humans > kossith > elves > dwarves, but I didn't think elves would come in so close behind the kossith, (28% to 25%) or the dwarves at 11% instead of 5%!
Oh, this wonderful news! A far cry from the mere 20% overall from Origins (elves 15% and dwarves 5%, roughly) I know the game hasn't come out yet and people might change their minds once they set down to character creation, but still! I hope races continue to be well-liked. ^.^

Female human most likely Rogue or Mage. But I'd like to try all eventually since I've only played as humans before.

I'll probably try Dwarf for my let's play and then either human or elf for my mage character, so two at once. (Still can't decide though.) But, I'll be playing all races at least once. Even Qunari, since I am curious as to how they will handle it.

I will play a female dwarf warrior first. I asked for it, and they delivered. =D I have to take advantage of that! ... It's so exciting!!!
My husband will play a male qunari first. He is looking forward to crushing everything. (:
