mage 2: what, like ready to go spells? wouldn't those be hard to carry around all individually?
mage 1: yeah, you're right....i got it! how about we make it a book full of the stuff.

That doesn't worry me at all. It looks like it acts as a booster, like the Wisp spell from DA:O, or Torchwood from Plants vs Zombies.

Or you can just... cast the spell, without carrying anything around.

Considering Vivienne doesn't use one, I doubt it is mandatory.

When you can do it in your head, why carry paper? Enchantments are for selling to mundanes.

Mage 2: we could just cast the stuff you know?
Mage 1: We yes, non-mages no. think of how profitable this can be.
Mage 2: yeah we'd be rich, right up until the point someone thinks they can just treat as a resource and cut the middleman.
Mage 1: damn....

That was also a wtf moment. I've seen lots of that in Japanese anime and such, including video games. It just doesn't fit to me. It looks cool. I'll give it that. Hopefully next won't be saying spell words or magic wands. No! No magic wands! They already have plenty of British in the game.
Magic staves aren't British?

That was a iron bark hard cover 1st edition fire spell book with a Bronto leather casing and Halla horn engravings and I need not tell you that you would be hard pressed to find a shield capable of stopping sword slashes, axe cleaves and arrow shots as well as this pure magnificence of literature.
This is a must have for mages all over Thedas from dark and broody apostates to vibrant Maker worshippers you need not look any further Mister Magics Floating Grimoire Collection.

What?! You are telling me that you are against the idea of having a magical floating fire book that you go all Merlin over. Beyond that think of the pure defensive bonuses from such a item.

Have I misheard or did they devs say that mages won't be able to use swords?
Spellbooks are a great alternative and hopefully they'll come with an individual skill tree.
