Technically speaking Qunari can be "Romanced". Romance =/= sex.
Sten (can) calls our Warden "Kadan"
Kadan:[3] Literally, "where the heart lies." An all-purpose word for a "person one cares about," including colleagues, friends and loved ones. Sometimes also "the center of the chest".
Aka, if you manage to get his approval up and find his sword, he loves you. You are precious to him. Family.
Asexual love.
I'm pretty sure that Sten wasn't in asexual love with the Warden, though an asexual romance would be interesting.
Why not? He clearly cares about a Warden who's taken the time to care about him. He respects and admires the Warden, enough so that he willingly calls them Kadan. He offers to have Kadan-Warden travel with him, asking them to stay close and be with him. This is the opitomy of love for Qunari. Someone so worthy of respect and caring that you're now known as "Where the heart lies", despite not being of the Qun.
It speaks very subtle volumes about Sten as well as the Qun and their views on love. Love isn't about sex. Non-Qun (and even in real world) add sex to love because it seems natural, but it is very litterally a societal link. To the Qunari, as a society, sex is a thing you do when it's time to make babies. Even in our own culture love is indepentant of sex, freely given to those worthy of it.
As an example, how many of us have that one friend who you'd have zero problems spending the rest of your life living with? Working with? Having them always a part of your life.. but you have absolutely no desire to sleep with due to varying reasons?
Take sex out of the equation completely, and that's Qun romance.

I'm probably coming off more serious than I really amI just mean that I disagree with your interpretation, but I also don't think it's fair to tell you you're the wrongest wrong that ever wrongly wrong wronged, especially when you're working under some pretty solid logic.

Btw, let's forget for a while about sex element... and think about more simple romance things like... do qunari kiss? Their love is asexual, so I wonder if they actually kiss. Maybe they do these eskimo kisses or even... headbumping.
Just imagine our LI waiting the Inquistior to kiss them... and then our Qunari Inq. suddenly headbutts them XD And thinks it's totally okay and romantic

That would actually be pretty cute.
And once that initial misunderstanding is out of the way, maybe they could come to a compromise and do gentle headbutting instead of bashing each other's head in.
