You know... I wouldn't be surprised if there is no LI available for them at all. It will be interesting to see but given their culture or attitude... I dunno.

But of course it won't matter if they have a LI or not right? I mean that can't be the only beneficial reason why you would want to play as a qunari surely.

I agree. I'm hoping LIs won't be Inquisitor-sexual like they were (Hawke-sexual) in DA2. Being in a relationship with someone should actually make sense. I never did like the whole 'rivalmance' business.

The bigger question for me, despite this being one of some import, is will we be going to Par Vollen?

To be honest it's one tricky question. Mary Kirby said that they just don't have romance. Did she mean only sexual love? Or platonic too?

I would say love between friends, or your co workers, is definitely a thing. I imagine they would develop romantic feeling towards each other, but probably not in the way we would know it as such, or maybe just not expressed in the same way. From the wiki:
"Qunari have no "family units": they do not marry, choose partners, or even know to whom they are related. A Qunari's "family" consists of his or her coworkers.Qunari generally do not associate mating with love. They feel love. They have friends. They form emotional bonds with one another. However, they simply do not sleep with each other to express it. If they do, then they are sent to be reeducated by the Ben-Hassrath. If a child is produced, the same thing happens as with all other Qunari children: it is sent to be raised by the Tamassrans, evaluated, and assigned a job. Qunari do not waste resources unnecessarily, people included."

Yeah, this one I've read.
But here are words of Mary Kirby. http://social.biowar...92283&lf=8 They kinda confuse me since David Gaider once said he wouldn't mind a qunari romance. So... what's the truth

He wouldn't mind a tal-vashoth romance perhaps since qunari is also referring to tal-vashoth. As for Qunari romance, he felt discourage to write a Qunari LI was because it was borderline fetishes with the thread request. It couldn't help when people were being pretty condescending to him when they say that he was writing porn instead.

I'm pretty sure he meant that creating qunari LI for the sake of qunari LI is a bad idea. At first they reate characters, then decide who will be LIs

I wonder how homosexuality is treated in the Qunari religion.

I mean, they barely even have heterosexuality, te only purpose of sex seems to be for children. Love doesn't seem to even be a factor.

The Qunari PC MUST be Tal-Vashoth.

Unless the player decides to role play as a follower of the Qun, killing Mage companions on sight, never taking female warriors into battle, and whatnot.

Qunari doesn't waste resource, so they wouldn't kill the mages. I'm pretty sure the Qunari Protagonisth is a Tal-Vashoth because it would not make sense for the Quanri who follows the Qun to make certain decisions in the game like falling in love or kill out of fun instead of neccesity.

Unless he's a double-agent, vying to attain as much power as he can, perhaps as King of Orlais. Then, if the people loyal to him, he destroys the Chantry, and allows a Qunari fleet to invade the country.

Yes, that as well, but the bottomline is that he wouldn't just create a LI just to satisfy the fans. That is why the complain about Cullen is a bit ridiculous. Even if the fans want him to be a LI, it wouldn't happen unless he thinks it'd be logical to do so.

I think they (and myself) would want to explore the cultural implications of a Qunari, (any Qunari, though recent Viddathari may be less interesting as they would not share the Qunari culture), in love, particularly with a non-Qunari, and the problems that may arise with the...certain expectations the non-Qunari party would have of their partner. Their still people, so its something they would want, but it goes against a tenant of their belief system

Yep, I like all of those options too

What makes me want a female Tal-Vashoth as LI (other that they look hot ofc:lol:) is that a woman who can get out of a society like the Qunari is definetly the kind of woman I want to meet and I'm curious on how would she learn about life outside the Qun. Romance is one thing I would like to see how she deals with since in Qunari society reproduction is assigned by their leaders and she would have to learn how to live with newly found sexual freedom. Also, seeing her musinderstand the PCs propositions could be hillarious.

Where do people get an idea that Qunari society is some patriarchal misogynist society? Men there are no less restricted than women who can't be warriors, but somply rule the mind of society with tamassrans and all the government business with Arigena

I can imagine how people would be surprised when a female tal-vashoth would call their male PC callow because men do not suit the role of rulers XD

What the hell are you talking about? I never said anything about Qunari society being patriarchal or misogynist. A male Tal-Vashoth LI would also be interesting for the same reasons, I just happen to prefer a female one because I like women and when a woman thrascends the roles of the society she was born into I like that.

Besides, gender roles of qunari are very strict for both genders. Women, technically, have even more power and freedom

Then you miss understand that part of the Qun. It more of a consept that they beleive female should not lower themselve to fight as men do. Certin female do fight like theBen-Hassrath  but it's indirect combat.
