Sten does suggest there are Qunari minstrels. That makes sense to me. After all, all work and no play makes Jack take his family to a haunted old hotel and try to murder them.

It's not just doing work or distractions from work. It is also perspective and world view that the leaders of the Qun wish to keep in their society.

Seeing a male trying to.... I don't know, do hospital work or some management job, would be strange to the qunari as it does not fit in what they consider to be the true way to live.

The perspective is sex is for procreation and such an event is controlled by the leaders and not for any one else to decide, which is all for the greater good, for the Qun. To just have sex for recreational purposes is rejecting the authority of the leaders in that responsibility.


Qunari can't even have big, large, just tear up the floor (and everywhere else) parties unless it is in celebration for a big town hero, but even then has a strict start and end. Such a thing would be a distraction if it goes too long and doesn't encourage discipline. However, at least those who disregard the teachings of sex in the Qunari society are just re educated, Sten mentions that it takes a couple executions to stop the big parties sometimes.

If Qunari have no concept of romance, then any romance for the Qunari PC would have to be written in the manner of a child discovering something new about his or her surroundings. It's not like he/she instantly knew how romantic relationships work straight after becoming Tal Vashoth, unless it's explained in his/her background somewhere

You can have sex without romance. Sex for pleasure. Qunari would still have a sex drive.

I don't see how having sex in free time challenges discipline remotely.

Oh yes
Though I guess the fact that the Inquisitor has been living outside of Qunari society for quite a time may be a good explanation why they're used to it. 
Still, that would be fun

Which is why I think we'll end up with a Qunari that was raised by humans or something along those lines. Otherwise being a Qunari would change the game and dialouges too much, I think.

I wouldn't mind that. Cause that means I might get a silly, snarky Qunari lady.
