Which probably isn't a problem for the Qunari in questions since sex does not equal love for them. So they connect emotionally to other Qunari of their own gender, but have no problem doing their duty and making babies with the opposite sex.

Seems logical. In a Qunari kind of way.

No sexuality is considered, just pro creation. Terms like heterosexual, bisexual, homosexual, etc. probably have no meaning in the Qun, as one's focus is supposed to be tied to their role.

Sorta like Eldar being focused in their role in Warhammer 40k, but never being allowed to leave that role... and having it be chosen for them... and other differences...

One can find happiness in their role, satisfaction in their work, friendship in their comradery, but anything to far from that and one can always choose death.

If the Qunari female isn't AT LEAST a full head taller than a human male, I'm gonna be disappointed. That's one of the appeals of playing a Qunari. Being strong and tall and (theoretically) able to throw your companions around like ragdolls.

I don't see how having sex in free time challenges discipline remotely.

That's why I was interested in how often they were bred, it must be fairly regular, depending on the natural sex drive of the qunari race.

I would assume similarly to any qunari (or anyone for that matter) who has sex for pleasure, heterosexual or homosexual.

I wouldn't call the Qun homophobic. Maybe if they didn't allow homosexuals breeding rights at all, or they actively persecuted them, then yes, homophobic. They cannot and do not stop you loving someone.

Not really.
Sex does not equal love in their society.
In other words, romantic love is expressed in a purely platonic way. I assume the Qunari are allowed to love members of their own sex.

Sure, they have to make babies, but that isn't anymore hostile towards them than it is towards straight Qunari. They all have to do their duty, regardless of whether they are attracted to their chosen mate or not.

Hmm.
You know, there is a possibility that Qunari simply don't possess a sex drive. For all we know, they could all be asexual.
That would explain why they only have sex for procreation and have exclusively platonic bonds with each other.

Who says they have complete control? It obviously happens which is why the re education is there and that it Is mentioned in the first place. Also, their biology could be different. Also, while their society as a whole is quite different from many societies in the real world, they are not entirely foreign. Pieces of their thought does match other thoughts found in different societies in our own world, including the sex bit.... although probably not as strict as having an organization that tells people who to mate with like in that Anthem book that some people read in high school.

I doubt that is going to get an answer.

To put it simply, in the Qun, the thought is not of the individual. The thought is of the whole society, a single organism. So, a "proper Qunari" does not bother with thoughts of fulfilling his/her own personal desires, but instead thinks of the role assigned to be a part of the single organism and to keep it healthy, and advance its interests, and so on and such.

Of course it can be difficult for some to always be a proper qunari, which is why they educate people.

Who knows if the basic laws of evolution even apply in a world with magic. *shrug*
I'm afraid we won't get answers to our questions until one of the devs writes a Qunari sex guide.
