well some people like myself dont have a computer ( i am here from xbl) and using a pen/paper is no good because it could be accidently thrown away or lost.

You could accidentally smash your console with a brick. I'm not sure developing around your inability to keep track of paper is a valuable use of resources.

I thought this was going to be a topic about improving the journal from DA2 so that you could see the different quest stages and actually go back and it tells you what happened. As I posted in the DA2 forum, I'm trying to look back and see what choices different characters made, and it's a pain in the backside. The journal is garbage. It doesn't tell me if Bartand was killed or went to a home. It doesn't tell me if Anders died or fled. It doesn't tell me a damn thing about a whole bunch of decisions I made. Except for some random sidequests, where it tells you [X was killed] or [X was freed], a lot of the time they're really vague and rubbish.

Still, points for the entry "Sister Phylias was eager to receive the finger."

So in short, I don't mind an in-game journal with fancy features or not, so long as they improve the questlog, which was poor in both DA2 and ME3.

It is mind numbingly depressing how modern RPGs have gone so far that it is actually perfectly valid to feel forced to ASK them to have a JOURNAL/NOTEBOOK.

Ditto on journals that actually look like journals. This aspect of visuals is something that gets surprisingly often overlooked in RPGs these days.   Inventories should send these..visual echoes of bags, pouches and such.Spellbooks, Journals, Codex pages etc should actually be books with pages you can turn, scrolls coming undone etc.

Instead, most all things most always look like something off W8 desktop.

I would love for the journal in Dragon Age: Inquisition to update and summarize your quests, perhaps similar to the journal in Skyrim (i.e., it updates the description of the quest as you progress and provides a summary after you have completed it).

wow you are really not understanding anything...or you are just trolling

"accidently smashing console with a brick" really...

They dont have to work around my inability to keep track of paper. I actually keep track of all paper notes/bills/fanfics/etc quite well but every now and then you misplace something. Chances are you have accidently trashed something you didnt mean to before. An in-game journal would mainly just be a convinance

Another advantage of having it ingame is the fact that it would be more like Baldurs Gate, which also offered that feature.
