Can we have fewer insane enemies please?

Well, if there's one thing I accept without question, it's unsubstantiated rumours on the Internet. Better go cancel my pre-order.

That two image rapresents two different missions that you can gave to YOUR agents, not some advisor group.
It's fine if you want to believe in the leak, but you should give people correct info so that they can form their opinion in a fair way.

I could believe in blind luck once (Red Templars) but three times? It seems plausible whoever wrote this has some inside information, even if it's very barebones.

Indeed, the Inquisition's authority. The leak talked about an advisor group.
As I said in the Cerberus thread, even it the leak was true the advisor feature changed completely. The plot could change.
The fact is that I don't believe that the one that posted the leak posted a false. I believe that the leak wasn't posted until yesterday, in a edited screenshot that referenfe a leak from February, by someone who either watched the conference or had the info, and changed the things shown in the demo.

Since I doubt that even it the devs say to you that it's fake, I think all you can do is wait for release and ask someone if it's true or not.

Double checked the dates, sounding pretty good. But old enough for things to have changed.MisterJB wrote...
Oh, I'm sure these leaks are completely false. No crediblity whatsoever.

A little bit heavy on the rhetoric, but I like it. 9/10Ieldra2 wrote...
It is sometimes said that our heroes are measured by the kind of enemy they attract. You're a hero if your fight is the result of a real struggle between values, goals, methods. If you just kill insane enemies, you're not a hero. You're an exterminator.

Yes, because 'Red Fist' and 'Gold Keys', are less stupid and fits the lore completely.

Yes, Zevran might get jealous of the word "Crow" being taken.

They're a lot less silly. And there is also no other known organizations using a fist or key motif to my knowledge.

I'm sure the PC will have ample oppertunity to clash with the more sane Templars and Mages (if they so choose) over more logical differences.
Every war has it's lunatics.

Well, it's a matter of opinion. I found them equally silly. The fact that there isn't an organization with a Fist or a key motif doesn't mean that it's good to name one around them.

Yeah, the Inquisition has owls (and Andrastian statues) for its spies keep look...not crows.
As for the fisty thing, Cassandra plant a battle standard in the tactical view demo that use its shape. It's an ability, dunno if it's a Warrior or one of her own though.

I've been watching the new reveals, and most of it is great. Tactical combat, qunari as a playable race, big areas with great vistas and countless other little things. I'm really impressed.
But then.....Red Templars? Using red lyrium which drives them insane?
*GROAN*
Indoctrinated Cerberus raises its ugly head. Can't enemies be valid opponents any more without being driven crazy by something magical? Do enemies need to be "insane-evil" instead of just normal enemies with their own goals which are in opposition to ours?
I implore you, DA team, don't overuse the "driven insane by magic (or destructive mind control)" EXCUSE - and yes, it is an excuse for making people behave erratically and attacking you just because, making it necessary to put them down without mercy, and removing the necessity of thinking about realistic motivations.
I've never liked this type of enemy, and I'm dead set against them after DA2 (which ruined a great character) and ME3 (which ruined a whole faction). Yes, I admit it *is* rather likely that we see some craziness in the scenario DAI is based on, but we have the undead and the demons for that. I'd rather have less insanity and more convincing human evil, and most of all I don't want to feel that insane enemies are put into some scenario because it's the easiest to do, because you don't need to think about why they're opposing you.
I agree with this largely because I want it to be possible to side with the bad guys motives. You just end up looking like a moron if you side with Cerberus or the Templars because Meredith and TIM were nuts the whole time. It smacks too much of "right" choice and "wrong" choice which I don't think have much of a place in an RPG.

People have been so used to playing the victim role, "overcoming da bad guys", etc.
It's this mentality that makes people judge an antagonist harsher than the PC even if the PC is doing the same/worse.
It's no different than Arrival Shepard trying to preach to the Illusive man. Of course you'll get all the justifications.... because the PC is the victim.
