Is it or is it not true that she shows up the rest of the cast?AstusOz wrote...
I don't understand the vitriol directed at Tallis by a lot of people. I'm not a fan of the character by any means but she's not deserving of all the hatred. Sure, the railroading at the end of MotA was grating but it hardly reflects on her character. We've barely seen anything of what Tallis has to offer.

Personally while I disliked the character, the entire reason for the DLC existing is just wrong. It's there because Felicia Day is a sort-of-celebrity and she got a vanity DLC. Which instead of MotA, we could have had anything else. Look how great Legacy turned out.

Yes but every member of the cast gets an opportunity to show off a bit. The cinematics are meant to be exaggerated and over the top. I don't think one should hold that against the character to such an extreme degree that has displayed by a number of posters over the years.Taleroth wrote...

I wasn't really a fan of the DLC either and found Legacy to be a lot more interesting and compelling but that's really not the point I'm trying to make here.Sopa de Gato wrote...

If you mean she died more often; Yes. But as a temp follower, she was simply another Rogue in the party.
I do not follow everything Ms Day has produced, but TableTop is very well made, and she must be one of the hardest working geeks, nerds, gamers, etc anywhere. And the live action DA vids were quite entertaining.
More pls!

I am sorry you wish not to hear opinions that differ from yours, but I don't think you should issue demands for anybody to stop doing so. I have acknowledged that many do not want her, but never have I tried to tell those who don't like my ideas to stop posdting.
to the poster above: I think they are right in that during the game every character had a shining moment.

No, that's really not what that phrase means.Elhanan wrote...

In the last thread it was stated that she essentially won every banter. She is more cultured than Varric, more seductive than Isabella, knows more about Tevinter or whatnot than Fenris. That sort of thing.
I've come under the impression that her appearance was little more than a cavalcade of how great she is.

Don't know much about Fenris, but I would say most woman are more seductive than Isabella unless they actually work in the Blooming Rose. And while I admire Varric - the Dwarf that lives in the Hanged Man - he may lose that culture battle to several, too; like Fenris.
But as far as keeping score of banters; never tried to do this. For instance, it seems that Isabella takes more jabs at Aveline in my games, but I still like the Tech KO the Commander of the Guard delivers in the final quests of Chp 2. I tend to remember these kinds of lines; not the numbers.
All for including another lovely gamer in the mix.

First thing, asking for a insignificant character to be dlc is a bad thing, i get that it's your opinion but regardless dlc is not a good thing and i don't disagree with that everyone should able to have something liked back but i seriously despise when people ask for it to be dlcDarkSpider88 wrote...

thats exactly it really. every new party banter had to have her coming into the conversation just to show up the other characters so we know shes more awesome.
**** i didnt even get to enjoy my romance banter with anders after getting out of that prison cell because she had to come in to say "but i rescued you tee hee"
at best it was annoying, and at worst it was offensively ****ty writing. a character ought to be able to stand on their own without the writers beating us over the head with how great they are and just making them better at everything than other characters

At best, it was her Companion Side-quest, so it would have more conversation from her, as it did with the others. And I enjoyed it; thought the final Boss was much better than most previous in the game.
At worst, one was allowed to feel used and manipulated. But seeing how that some can choose to have a romance with Anders, this would seemingly be somewhat easier to forgive....

I can understand being against DLC, but it should be abundantly clear to every gamer that DLC will be part of gaming for the foreseeable future and there is very little the consumer can do about that, and that includes day one DLC. It is not a pretty truth but a fact nonetheless.
My thread acknowledges that odds are there is a very likely possibility that there will be a Day One DLC character, if there isn't one that is fine. My opinion is that if there has to be one, start with a character that we have seen but could stand some more fleshing out.Tallis fits that bill because the gamer has limited exposure to her. I think a fresh new DLC character never really gets fleshed out and in the end feel tacked on (Sebastion, Kasumi, and Zaeed being examples IMO.

The inability for Hawke or his companions to actually debate the Qun with Tallis or argue with her without Tallis cutting it off (like she does with the nose remark, or the comment about sowing Anders mouth shut when he brings up the mistreatment of mages by the Qunari), were criticisms people had about Tallis and MoTA. It factors into why some feel she comes across as a 'Mary Sue'.

Which is strange, because her doing everything flawlessly without failing should be why she's a May Sue.
