But then I read that Bioware was correcting the mistakes that DAII made. I saw the trailer; it was amazing, and absolutely gorgeous. When I heard that we would be able to be non-humans again with selectable backgrounds, I knew Bioware was getting back on track. Since then I've been very excited about Inquisition.
I think it's going to be a hell of a game. I feel like my complaints about DAII have been heard, and addressed. That alone makes me feel good. A lot of game developers don't take customer feedback that seriously.
With that said, I have faith in Bioware, and I can't wait to play Inquisition.

I'm also curious if the roll will work like Evade (cooldown) or if it'll be a standard action game roll.
I don't know how I feel about the timer either as I prefer playing at my own pace.
But I'm optimistic and most of the details revealed so far seem promising.

I am so-so, to be honest. All the news & updates so far look very exciting, but I am cautious about new engine and changes it can bring. Qunary PC is ridiculous idea to be honest (at least, I hope it won't have romance options. Just imagine: "We shall proceed to my tent worthless creature as Qun orders me..."). And, of course, being burned by ME3 once I can't be seriously "hyped". Optimistic & looking forward to the game - yes, but not crazy about it.
The playable Quanri has a personal name and a surname, hence they do not follow the Qun.
Sorry, I just think that making Quanari a PC is a gift for some certain "vocal minority" that doesn't work well with the rest of the story. I mean, will players be ready to take consiquences of killing a family if they lose their sword? Or always stand against "worshiping a dead woman"? Unless Bioware makes a *really* different story for Quanari PC from the rest of PC races.

Since DA2's release, people have been complaining about BioWare. It got even worse after ME3.
Defending against the constant wave of negativity hasn't been fun.
Now I can be, "Yeah, I liked BioWare before it was cool. And don't even try to deny that you slagged it for years because I have links!"

Pretty sure it's racially a Kossith (horned "oxman") not a Qunari (follower of the Qun). AFAIK a Tal-Vashoth.

After complaining about all the ways Bioware was doing things that I didn't like, they changed nearly everything to fix those complainnts, despite people blindly defending all the choices Bioware made that they have since gone back and said were mistakes.
So we're all happy and joyous people now.

Qunari who don't follow the Qun are called Tal-Vashoth. They are rare, but they certainly exist. You meet a few in Dragon Age 2.

I think its just that if they said Kossith most people would be like "Wtf is that? Some new race?" while most people understand that Qunari just means big dudes with horns.

I like some of the things but the news of the Red Templar has me wary.
Red Templar? Sorry I haven't been on the forums all that much recently
It's faction in the demo that are men driven mad by red lyrium. The gripe is that Bioware seems to be tossing in factions that are evil simply because of some lame plot device (think Cerberus with indoctrination).
Personally, I doubt they're a significant part but if 75% of the villains are like that... I will be mad. It takes away all moral complexity when the enemy are insane or stupid.

Well fair dues, a lot of what they have shown is very impressive, ambitious, and from just a gameplay standpoint it appears quite good. The combat is perhaps a bit more "actiony" (for lack of a better word) than I might like, but not the end of the world.
However in games like DA etc. what matter most to me is the story, narrative, and writing, which can't really be judged until after the games release.
So while I think what the DA team has revealed so far is interesting, and I commend them for the forthrightness they seem to be displaying with fans, I remain ultimately undecided until after the game comes out.
At the beginning I was blown away by it's awesomeness.
After the dust has settled and mind relaxed... I have to agree with you a 100%.

My summary of what I wanted from further DA games after DA2 was best listed here - http://ingenre.com/2...sition-preview/ , and, from what we know so far, it sounds like -
1/3 of my first request / desire was completed, 1/3 will not be fixed, and the last 1/3 of that first request is unknown at this time (at least to me.)
My second request was not only met, but my higher goal was reached.
My last request, the one that kind of trumped the previous two, is what BioWare is hyping. They are selling hard that they are working on C&C.
-----
So, for what I know now?
I'm gone from dejectedly expecting the worst to extremely skeptical but listening, bordering on the edge of warily (but still skeptically) interested.
I need to see a lot more to move much further. But the part of me inside that would love to sing BioWare's praises again has some ammunition and is fighting a last stand that seems a bit less like the Alamo at this point.
