Personally, I am really psyched based on what I have seen. It looks like they are putting a lot of time and care into this installment imo.

All good, but stil cautious at heart, I dont want to waste money if: rock falls everyone die.

I'll use my money on wow and buy 3 new mounts.. already got 2 of them :D

I am excited for everything except three things:

I want health regeneration out of combat and the ability to use health potions whenever and however often I want to.

I want my MINIMAP; I hate Skyrim style compass displays. If I wanted to play Skyrim, I would play Skyrim.

I like most of what i've seen and heard, but not all of it. I'm still not going to pre-order though. The last few games have opened my eyes and I shall remain wary.

Check the dates on that possible leak.

Feb 17 and May 12

Was there any info/did we know about the "Red Templars" before PAX?

None whatsoever.
So, some person manages to acuratelly name the Red Templars months before their reveal?
it seems to me this leak is becoming increasingly plausible.

Lost opportunity, is how I feel. I'm one of those who didn't buy DA2 'cause of Hawke (and the lack of my Warden...and the game's lack of appeal for me). There would've been a really easy way to get the "Warden-loyalist" buyers to buy DAI, and that would be to have made the Warden *an option* as the Inquisitor. It would've been easy enough to do programming-wise, especially since they've already stated they're going to take all those variables into account in the Dragon Age Keep thingy. Those who didn't want their Warden, or whose Warden was dead, could've not chosen it as their option and had a brand new toon (and I understand those arguments, if disagreeing with them personally), and those who did want their Warden could've chosen it (and after all, the Warden is a genuine Thedasian hero for nearly single-handedly ending a Blight...the Inquisition couldn't make much better of a choice to save Thedas). So, unfortunately, despite my endlessly replaying DAO and DAA, DAI will go into the DA2 category of "no thanks" for me. Too bad, too, 'cause other things about it do look interesting. But things about DA2 looked interesting as well, but not enough to endure Hawke over my Warden.

I like what they have presented, then again I liked what they had presented about ME3 before it was released. I still don't think there's anything to get me excited.

This is true for me as well.

I was pretty disappointed about the lack of a modders toolkit.  DAO was made better due to the mods for the game.  Character appearance armor and customization packs helped add weeks of replayability to a game I learned to know backwards and forwards.  Community cutscenes really enhanced the story and appearance immeasurably.  To learn this will not be an option was not unexpected just disappointing.

I have really enjoyed the videos and peeks into what DAI will be and I like everything I have seen and heard thus far.  But as has been pointed out prior to playing ME3 I really liked everything I had seen and heard for that game as well.  It was the first game I ever preordered and the first game I ever got the CE of.  It was also the first game I ever beat that left me sick, pissed, and disbelieving.

DAI and any Bioware game will alwyas be influenced by this experience.  As much as I like what I have seen so far I have little desire to purchase this game at full price.  I bought DA2 at half price a year after release and I knew exactly what to expect and thus was able to enjoy 4 or 5 playthrues and a few partial attempts.  I felt I got what I paid for and I got my moneys worth.

I am going to do this for DAI.

I think it's too early to tell. I kinda hate all those sort of teasers already a year before release, because it's still too vague to really make something out of it.

I am looking forward to it as such and I did like DA2 just from a story point of view. I do sometimes wonder what the BW writers have against their own heroes that they create. I guess we were lucky to get a trilogy about Shepard but in DA it changes every installment lol.

Agreed, it does seem that way.  It's like "we made this awesome character...okay, now run from it as fast as we can!"

Things I like so far:

- Bigger areas to travel and explore
- The new Engine

Things I don't like

- The combat looks over the top so far

Things I'm worried about

- The red lyrium storyline and how large a part of the story it is
- That they'll be these big open areas with no reason to leave the main path, nothing to discover
- That cities will still be dead and lifeless
- Extensive Auto dialogue
- That the keeps and controlled areas will be like the ME3 war asset, galactic readiness system

So yeah I still need a lot of details before I give an actual opinion.

The difference between the pre-release time for ME3 and DAI is this:

Before ME3, I liked what I saw but the things I cared most about weren't mentioned at all or mentioned in an evasive manner, and those indeed turned out badly.

Now with DAI, I like what I see and part of what I see addresses important concerns, like the tactical view and the ability to preview what I say in dialogue, or things I never expected but like a great deal, like the return of the race selection plus qunari and the exploration. Naturally, of the things I care most about not much is said yet again but that's normal because those topics - story and characterization - would be spoilers, and as opposed to the ME team the DA team hasn't disappointed yet in that, the insanity of DA2's enemies notwithstanding, nor is there any hint that they might as it was with ME.

I am concerned about the insane enemies we might get thanks to red lyrium, especially since there is precedent for that, but at this point this is about the only major concern. Everything else I read about DAI is not just good, it's great. I feel that if the shown features make it into the final version in an appropriate manner, which I do expect, then the only way this game can yet be ruined for me is by bad storytelling and lack of roleplaying opportunities....

...and regarding those, the Bioware people say all the right things, it sounds as if they believe them *and* there is precedent that they actually do them right, mostly. DA2 was good for roleplaying, and the story of Act I and II was interesting and appealing and only went off the rails with the overabundance of insane mages, Meredith's insanity and Orsino's unmotivated transformation.

So I'm optimistic. Apart from the "insane enemies" issue and the still possible over-the-topness of combat (though significantly reduced from DA2's insane level), all my concerns are minor (for instance: oversized weapons, no friendly fire) compared with the great stuff shown and told in the published material and the interviews.

Dont have one yet, the game is way too early in development and there's too little information to form an informed opinion. It certainly looks very good, Frostbite seems to have been a good choice and for the rest I'll wait and see but given its a Dragon Age game I'm probably going to pre-order the Collectors Edition or equivalent of it anyway.

There's the fan service person.
There's Ricky Nelson's old song Garden Party.
There's a line that says you can't please everyone so gotta please yourself.
Bioware has said they're making the game they want to make.
So I think that's their reasoning and not fanservice.

I mostly really like what they've shown.

But since finding out that atop of having a stronghold to maintain you also get a keep in each area I'm worried that micromanaging and customizing all of the keeps + the main stronghold will quickly become tedious and detract too much from the story.

I won't be buying inquisition until next-gen gets a price cut, so it's possible by that time i'll know if the game is worth my time.

greetings LAX
ps: oh, i got one more major issue: gameplay - i don't like a "The Witcher 2"-clone with a party :(

With the new information about playable races, items more universal to all characters, finally a decent detachable camera system, and no level scaling, Bioware is speaking but all I hear is music.

So far, this feels like the madly ambitious game the Dragon Age series deserve.

For what it's worth, it looks nothing like Witcher combat. It looks like Dragon Age combat, from the viewpoint the console versions had. The demo footage even still has the hotkey icons/timers.

I'm pleased with the multiple races, specialization quests and some of the dialogue changes they've spoken about recently. Sounds like they're trying to get the best of both worlds for party dialogue. Still don't like the enforced PC VO or paraphrases...though I'm sure it's a done deal by now.

Unsure about plot. Wary about the Maker-damned red lyrium since I hated it so much in DA2. Skeptical about Morrigan since Witch Hunt turned her into the queen of vague and pointless foreshadowing.

Hopeful about the Keep and what it could mean for savegames.

In the dark about DRM, which ruined my DA2 pre-order.

On the whole DAI is looking more promising than previously, but I'm not inclined to pre-order at this point.

it's just been ok so far nothing very spectacular and nothing very negative either. To sum it up very boring.
