So I've been at PAX for almost all the panels, and I have some time to kill. I can answer any questions the developers themselves have answered in one way or another.
Fire away and stuff, if you want.
Have they spoken about any of the specializatons for the different classes? For example, can we still expect to use Blood Magic, Spirit Healer and Force Mage ala DA2, or will it be more similar to DA:O...or something entirely different?
Specializations will be looked at and balanced in the coming year, currently they are still working on populating the normal class skill trees.
They are interested in moving away from click a button specializations. I have a quote in fact!
"We are investigating... we know that it has always been really awkward that you can become a blood mage wit hthe press of a button... so we are investigating making being a blood mage a little more threatening for the player character."
In other words, they are looking into making prestinging more impactful, thinking like the special quests you had to do for some of the specializations (Origins' Reaver, for example)... and this time perhaps without the (apparently unintentional) "feature" of cross-character specialization unlocking.
