As for races there was a hint that there may be one quest/area that may be impossible to finish if you are a Qunari. Presumably other races have advantages or disadvantages like this. They did not say anything explicit like "there will be exactly X instances of the game acknowledging your race" but the takeaway for me was they didn't want to miss any major opportunities. they want to make sure you aren't being continually beaten down if your character's race proves disadvantageous therefore the racial prejudice may fade away as the PC's authority as inquisitor increases.

I suppose that makes sense. A healthy dose of prejudice keeps things interesting, though I suppose it can become a real detriment in the long run. (I can see people respecting you more as you gain power and alliances though.) Did they give any more details on it? Backgrounds, world reactivity, racial stat bonuses, Qunari versus Tal'Vashoth, etc?

They probably didn't mention any of this but... any hint of whether companion-specific talent trees return or not?

Are the rumors true that romances will no longer be player-sexual?

No official details have been revealed about romances.

I get the feeling that the romances haven't even been completely determined yet.

ETA: btw I'm the one who's been wandering the Bioware Base all weekend with the Jack haircut :) I'm in the back right now :P

Can rouges wield full sized weapons this time around (long swords, axes, maces), or are they still restricted to bows and daggers like in DA2?

We've seen that warriors can throw grappling hooks and break down doors, and heard that mages can rebuild bridges and create walls of ice to block enemies, has anything been shown about special exploration/combat abilities unique to rogues?

Out-of-combat stealth is something that was asked about and confirmed by the devs.  They can scout ahead of the party, for example.  This may seem simple but given other changes (destructable terrain, coordinating enemies, a reduction in healing abilities available to the party, lingering injuries) reconaissance is potentially very important.

Thanks Upsettingshorts and Dunvi for the info :]

Since we have Mages in heavy armor now, have they said anything about how the armor system works? Free? Stat requirements?

Do the possibilities of more martial Mages, especially now with heavy armor and Qunari, seem more plausible?

They also mentioned that while you can take over a number of strongholds there will be one castle that will be your true home base.

Okay. This will be a bit of a post.

Before the devs had multiple races in, they were focusing on multiple backgrouns instead - like ME backgrounds, small little blurb, moving on. When they shifted to having multiple races, the backgrounds became the various races. I have not gotten a good answer on this (but I have asked) but it sounds a little like there are definitely 1 background per race, and they are looking into making "mage" its own background... I was not able to get a good answer about, say, dalish elves vs. city elves - I did not hear anything that sounded good for more than 1 background per race.

A few other things, when asked about reactions to female qunari and mage qunari since, lore wise, it's pretty significant, one of the devs blurted out "OH - it'll come up."

That is very good news. I was hoping there would be an equivalent to Warden's Keep/Hawke's house so I can have a chest to dump my extra stuff in. :)

How will they deal with the difference between the tactical view and 3rd person when it comes to attacking? Will it be click to attack in third person or auto attack?

A lot was said but nothing concrete because they're still working on it. Along the lines of not missing opportunities, though, they briefly discussed their interest in mages of any race have a background properly reflecting the fact that the character is a mage, since that comes with baggage.

Almost surely the castle shown in the first concept art, and the concept art shown yesterday in Matt Rhodes blog, called 'A new home'.

On a related note, did they mention anything about voices/accents for the different races?

I don't know about specifics.  However, it was asked if companions would be restricted like Isabela was to daggers.  The answer was no, they'll be able to use ranged and melee weapons.  As to how broad that selection will be for each class, I do not know.  They were also asked if mages would be able to wield swords, and they were noncommittal

They did not say.  But when a better quality video comes out we may be able to infer the answer.  Or it may be TBD.
