It wasn't a toggle in DA:O. It was tied to difficutly.

eta: that reminds me, truthfully i never understood the appeal of powers like the storms and their combo, storm of the century. the huge casting time and only mediocre damage was absolutely not worth restricting my warriors from getting in there and running everything through in five seconds. sure, once or twice they could be useful, but i didn't ever think they were nearly as good as everyone else seems to. but maybe it's because i always played with friendly fire :P


That was the bugged vanilla game ...Get Combat Tweaks which fixes almost all the problems with spell combos, archery, two handed and Storm of the Century is very very deadly...


Oh I used it, trust me. Storm of the Century still wasn't worth the casting time and having to bring three mages to get it off as soon as possible.

Where are the Venatori from? I'm assuming they're from Tevinter, but clarification would be nice.

Paralysis Explosion + Affliction Hex my dear...I have Wynne with the Glyphs & Earthquake, Warden with spell might/blizzard/tempest, Morrigan as Entropy mage to debuff...

So paralysis explosion first...Followed by storm of the century and affliction hex......Dead enemy in room... Sometimes throw in earthquake if need be..Morrigan & me have force field so what I do is send the tank..usually Shale or Sten to draw aggro..force field them and cast all this...

Have been playing DA:O :P Want to have all my DA playthroughs up and ready....

Did they specify anything about the keep and how it will let you customize your Warden and Hawke in the Frostbite 3 engine.

No idea.

No idea. There was one instance of dialogue and no commentary from the inquisitor besides. Luke said something sort of related, paraphrased: "you can only put so many words in the players mouth before it stops being their character"


Well, at least it sounds good. There is no way I would want to go through ME3's forced emotion crap again :lol:

Anyone know the game play effect of the choice of the troop deployment in the demo? Do npc join you assault? Also if you tell them to stay with there wounded does that count to some war resource? Can you lengthen the timer by sending forces to a place?

It was being filmed, but Bioware has not posted an official vid anywhere as of get. 



What was the "Behind the Scenes" panel about today? Is that about the QA process?

No explanation for the spellbook has come up.


If you look closely at the enemy mage in the end of this video you can allmost see hes useing it the way we see in the trailer

The Keep will not let you customize your Warden or Hawke in the Frostbite 3 engine. The Keep is a browser application that lets you fiddle with world states, not faces.

As far as I have noticed, nothing has been flimed. But, and this is just a guess, I suspect they'll post a proper video of the demo for public consumption later.

Did they mention which countries you'd be traveling to?

In the demo I saw Nevarra as well on the loading screen, so I'm hoping that we go there.
Still not sure why we seem to be stuck with Ferelden again, I was hoping for Tevinter or some place new.

The only countries discussed (and therefore confirmed) were Ferelden and Orlais. Whether there are more or that's it ????? no mention. Either way we can look forward to many large sprawling areas to explore.

We have some locations in Ferelden that are still unexplored which are seemingly included.

Are the keeps upgradable to only 1 tipe like military or can we chose a jack of all trades.....or can we change it if we want to a different tipe?
Is there only one keep per region?
inventory tipe....grid/ weight?
Number of members in the party-> 4/5/ pet takes a space or is summon?

I wonder what would happen if the Inquisitor missed running into the guards outside Crestwood. For example, if the Inquisitor and co. were exploring off the road or simply did not speak to the guards.

Would you cross an invisible line and a countdown timer just pops up on your screen? Would you have any idea the town was in danger unless you actually went there? Would the region be in a state where it wasn't being attacked until you actually spoke with the guards?
