Think of extremely broken games that were first sold on false pretenses like A:CM and Simcity, how many people bought those games without knowing the problems until it was too late?I'm sorry but anyone who just accepts being lied to is contributing to the problem.Examurai1 wrote...
...But what happens if those people don't consider them lies? What happens if they are actually satisfied with the products? It may not be exactly what they thought due to their own personal expections since everyones different but in the end they accept it and are satisfied with it. Like I am satisfied with buying the ME3 CE without any regrets.
It then just becomes an annoyance having people rampage all over forums spouting hate and trying to manipulate(maybe an exaggeration I know...) you to follow their opinions and join the hatewagon because they weren't happy. One of the major reasons "fanboy vs haters" wars exist.
The problem with your arguement is not everyone feels lied to about the game and making a statement like "accepts being lied to" can cause people to outright ignore you instead of making them think about the issue, which to me is that I look at situations differently then a developer.
Personally I am cautious with any game I buy, its why I didn't buy Skyrim, Alien: Colonial Maries, Assassin's Creed 3, or The Walking Dead right off the bat no matter what other people were saying for there were inherient flaws with each ranging from bugs, poor design, to not being my style of game. I rarely pre-order games for this very reason for nobody from the developer to another player will see a game the same way I do so why should I let others make my purchasing decision for me.
