Varric: So, eh, Ghostie. If someone can't see you, and you pick up a flagon of ale and drink it in front of them, will that ale just fall straight to the floor and make a puddle?
Cole: I'm not sure... I can eat food.
Varric: When you were holed up in the white spire, did any of the mages get suspicious when they saw objects hovering mysteriously in the air? As if a ghost was carrying them?
Cole: I... I don't think so. Everything I touch disappears.
Varric: Hey Inquisitor! I think we've found a new solution for the Keep's garbage disposal problem!

QunQuisitor: You were once Qunari, correct?
Iron Bull: Not a part of my life I remember fondly but yes, I was.
QunQuisitor: The only things I know about the Qun come from my parents and the villagers were I grew up and they aren’t what I would call the most unbiased and correct source of information.
Iron Bull: *snorts* I’m sure I can’t imagine why.
QunQuisitor: I was wondering, would you tell me about the Qun and the Qunari society and culture?
Iron Bull: No.
QunQuisitor: (waits) Care to elaborate on that answer?
Iron Bull: No.
QunQuisitor: Why?
Iron Bull: Parshaara.
I don't know why, but at that conversation-ending "parshaara", I just burst out laughing. Brilliant.

Iron Bull: Bas. Avert your gaze. I am no animal to be studied.
Cullen: I'm sorry. I've never been this close to a Qunari without it trying to lop my head off.
Iron Bull: Likewise, I have not been near a Basvaard without threat of violence. That does not mean I feel obliged to ogle it.
Cullen: You know, we're not so different, you and I. We both left our people to become something greater.
Iron Bull: No. I did not leave my people to become greater.
Cullen: What did you leave for, then?
Iron Bull: I left to be.
Cullen: I'm not sure I understand.
Iron Bull: How could you? You were born and taught to have purpose. I was not. I had to find it myself, away from the Qun and those who thought to rob me of it. Venak hol, be silent. I tire of this banter.

Cassandra: Are you alright, Inquisitor?
Inquisitor: I... I'm alright.
Cassandra: Anyone else with a weaker will may have been broken by what you went through.
Inquisitor: I can't afford to become broken. That is too much that depends on me.
Cassandra: Your inner strength is admirable. But be aware that you have allies to call upon if you should need them.
Varric: I think what Seeker here is trying to say is that we've got your back.
Inquisitor: Thank you. I will keep that in mind.
(breif pause)
Inquistor: And... thank you for coming to my rescue... if you and the others hadn't come for me...
Perhaps I would indeed be broken.

Inquisitor: What?
Varric: I shaved it off after I lost a bet with Hawke's Mabari.
Inquisitor: Really?
Varric: No, not really. But I did loose a game of cards to Hawke's Mabari. You know how sad it is to loose 5 gold coins to a dog? <Sighs> I have a feeling Isabella taught that dog how to cheat.

L: I've heard you tell stories?
V: You wound me, milady. I don't tell stories, I live them. The awesome penmanship is but a hobby that flows from the force of nature that is the inquisitor.
L: I love stories. I'm a bard, you know. Tell me one of the hawke.
V: A, but doll, I never hand them out freely. How about one in return?
L: It would be my pleasure.
V: You work with cassandra, yes?
L: We know each other, that much is true.
V: And you're her boss, right?
L: Well, I hand out her missions, anyhow.
V: And you spent many nights camping together, under the beauty of the stars and the full moon?
L: The undercover missions we've done together usually took several months, yes.
V: You must've felt lonely without the warden there.
Cassandra: Dwarf! This ends right now!
V: Oh Cass, too late, I'm already penning this down.
*The thud of a knife in a booklet*
V: Books don't stand a chance when they're near you, do they?

Quinisitor : Why?
Varic : Because I'm curious. People of Thedas like to know more about those we follow.
Quinisitor : Very well. I was captured by Tevinter slavers when very young and raised as a slave.
Varic : Well now, I sense a story here
<pause>
Varic : <exasperated sigh> So how are you not still a slave?
Quinisitor : I killed my master and then fled Tevinter
Varic : Just like that? You just killed someone and left? You don't want to embellish a little? Or at least elaborate?
Quinistor : No
Varic : And you didn't want to return to your people in Par Vollen?
Quinisitor : No
Varic : Why not? You can't have been overly fond of Tevinter were you?
Quinisitor : No
Varic : So why didn't you want to live amongst other Qunari, those who are more like you?
Quinisitor : They are not like me
Varic : Funnily enough, I met one just like you. He could have been your long lost twin
Quinisitor : Were I return to Par Vollen, my hands wound be bound, my tongue ripped out and my mouth sewn shut
Varic : Hmm, I guess I can see your point of view

( Varric/Cassandra banter about Cassandra's relationship with the Inquisitor)
V:Do things seem strange to you Seeker?
C: What do you mean?
V: Oh nothing, its just that Bianca and I spotted you leaving the Inquisitors room last night. You were without a knife, which is something I find that to be very strange.
C: A weapon was not needed, I was simply going over plans with our leader.
V:Going over plans, without a knife? When you say that I can only assume you two were doing something other than going over plans. How could you stab away at inanimate objects during planning without a weapon Seeker?
C: I,you, it is no concern of yours dwarf! Bring up the subject again and I swear to the Maker no book will be able to protect you from what I will do to you or Bianca!
V: *sigh* I'll just ask the Inquisitor, maybe he'll be more willing to share details for my next story.

Varric: Are those dalish tattoos?
Inquisitor: I think so.
Varric: You think so? What's the story? And why don't you know?
Inquisitor: I met this one elf, quite the charmer really, and he convinced me to get them.
Varric: A charming elf? Was this elf dalish?
Inquisitor: I don't know. He sweet talked his way into my life, and like a poisonous cloud, he left.
Varric: Wait, was he a lover?
Inquisitor: Of course not! He was a former Antivan crow, and we were working together on a job. The tattoo reminds me of a job well done.
Varric: I get the feeling that your story crossed paths with a couple other famous stories.

Between Varric, Cassandra, and the Inquisitor after a meeting with Morrigan:
Cassandra: I am not so certain we should be trusting this Morrigan.
Varric: I'll admit she didn't exactly give a good first impression.
Cassandra: What I mean is that I am concerned that she might know more about this than she is telling us.
Inquisitor: Perhaps, but right now what other options do we have? With her abilities and influence, she may come in handy.
[later - conversation happens if warden or Alistair did dark ritual and were friends]
Inquisitor: Varric?
Varric: What's on your mind, Inquisitor?
Inquisitor: I had heard a rumor that someone of Morrigan's description was once a companion of The Hero of Ferelden.
Varric: So I have heard.
Inquisitor: In our last conversation, she said I reminded her of a friend she hadn't seen in a long time...I wonder if she meant...The warden...
Varric: You don't seem to happy about that.
Inquisitor: I'm not sure if I feel worthy of such a comparison. The Hero of Ferelden is a legend, someone who killed a Archdemon and lived, someone who inspired their fellows and made good out of impossible situations... I hope I can live up to such an example.
Varric: With what we're trying to accomplish, I have no doubt you'll have a legend of your own, along the the Warden and the Champion of Kirkwall.
Inquisitor: Thanks Varric. That means a lot.

*snipped*. I now find myself wondering what a conversation with Morrigan about her Hero of Ferelden lover/baby daddy would go.
Well, since you asked, I think I will try to make something. Not sure if it will be any good. It's only a line or two of dialogue change.
Alternate dialogue - If Morrigan was romanced in DAO and the dark ritual was performed. (I know there's also the witch hunt decision, but I am simplifying the requirements here.)

I wondered if the person I reminded her of... was the Hero of Ferelden...
Varric:The story is that she and the Hero of Ferelden are quite close...if you know what I'm getting at.
Inquisitor: Is that why she's helping us? Because I remind her of her lover?
Varric: It could be that. But honestly, I get the feeling there's more going on with her assistance beyond a reminder of the past.
