Why else would they take him to the Normandy? To disect him? Kill him? Only one reason...to be a part of their crew.

look at the achievements list on xbox360achievements.org. compare the icon for Friend or Foe with the icons of the other recruitment achievements. now compare the A House Divided icon with the other loyalty achievement icons.
looks eerily similar, right?

I'm a little confused as to why the 'pipes' on him are circled?
Just highlighting the details to prove that it is indeed him....I just saw a bunch of people deny it at Gamefaqs until I showed them this pic. And a few still do here, that's all.

Why cut him open otherwise? Obviously Tali reprogrammed him.

How can he not be a squadmate? Aren't the geth getting smarter and evolving, and are half and half robot and organic? It would make sense that one of them is overtly intelligent. I'm wondering how he's gunna talk to you, don't they talk with beeps and pretty much gibberish? Maybe they have those "Voice Modulators" via Star Trek technology.
If you watch the "Enemies" trailer on the website, they go over him.
He's hunting shepard and is obsessed with shepard, even wearing a piece of sheps armor.
We probably get a sequence where he's hunting us and we hunt him down and he spills his beans and we get the choice to let him go/kill him/have him join us.

No, he's learned English. Watch the "Enemies of Mass Effect 2" video, he talks to you.

What do you mean? He's cut open before you recruit him.

Although it sounds like a chipmunk was speaking with some pretty heavy editing.shinobi602 wrote...

At least, that's what I thought of it.

Damn, guys, you're all pretty on top of this. I thought I'd seen all the videos (besides ones that give spoilers) and you just gave me a BUTTLOAD of info...I'll crawl back into my cave now until release day and then I will be able to enjoy ME2 like I did ME1. Sounds like a friggen awesome story, Tali reprogramming the geth? SWEET! CAN'T WAIT...well, I can, and I will.
Don't get mixed up, there's nothing, no evidence of Tali "reprogramming" Legion. Legion is independent, sort of part of a separatist faction of Geth basically, he's free thinking and somehow is able to think intellectually on his own without the need for other Geth around him.

No no no, the geth are taking on evolutions of their own.
There are separatist factions of Geth that have separated from the original, and some like Legion are becoming less collective and animalistic and becoming more individualistic.

Lol, I guess. I don't know why, but I just love his voice. I wouldn't really expect much deeper voice acting, he IS a machine after all hehe.

The achievement list originally released follows a certain format. There are nine achievements literally saying they are about gaining trust, and 7 literally about recruiting squdmates.
All story progression achievements yield 15 or 25 Gamerpoints, but all of the Recruit Squadmate and Gain Trust achievements yield 10 points. The exception to this is the "return to active duty" achievement, which also has 10 points, but only because it's trivial - involving surviving the first mission and getting your ship.
Immediately below the obvious recruit achievements is one titled "Friend or Foe". 10 points, just like the recruiting ones, and it's grouped with them. The description is Obtain Geth Technology. Given that Legion is stalking you, and has been depicted as an enemy in the pre-release materials, the achievement for recruiting him being titled "Friend or Foe" makes perfect sense in context. The description also falls into place straight away in light of this possibility.
Grouped with the other "gain trust of ____" achievements is the "A House Divided" achievement. Description is "Hack a Geth Collective". One of the early reviews (forget which magazine it was in) stated that one of the moral choices to be made involved brainwashing a sentient being into being peaceful or killing it. This leads me to believe that the "gaining trust" of legion involves hacking him or the collective that he's part of in order to either free him from their influence, or to literally just reprogram him to be loyal to your cause.
The "A House Divided" name would thus be a reference to the schism between Legion and his non-individualistic Geth, who now are not only different but on two different sides of a war.
... and it's 10 gamerpoints, just like all the other "gain trust of ____" achievements.
This isn't by any means a confirmation, it's entirely possible that the "10th squadmate" is only accessable through DLC (and would thus be Zaheed, as opposed to him being an 11th) , and thus since the DLC is free it doesn't have any achievements... But I have hope. I want a synthetic teammate. <3
