I'm curious as to how party balance will work in this new game. Will it be possible to have certain combinations and not have the game be ridiculously hard?

In the demo, they used the classic set-up: Warrior PC, Warrior (Cassandra), Rogue (Varric), and Mage (Vivienne). Personally, I tend to go WRMM with my PC as a mage. But will mages be so squishy that you really need to capitalize on having multiple warriors?

I'm not overly concerned about this, I'm just curious as to what everybody thinks.

As long as I can have any combination of four classes I want then I'll be happy.

Had tons of fun stomping through the Brecillian forest with Sten, Oghren and Al-boy at once. Was also cool to four-rogue-party the high dragon in Dragon Age 2.

One thing I still do not get is how Cullen (if he is indeed included based on original screen-shots) will be in the same group with mage companions or mage PC? I get they need a templar warrior, but that will be an interesting... relationship.

Back on topic, though, based on information we get, the party seems to be well-balanced, IMHO. Personally, I would go either Warrior/Mage PC, one warrior, one rogue and then someone else. Have to have a rogue in a party to open locked objects.

I will probably play a rogue, so my party will likely be WMM. With no regen, I think I'll feel even more obligated to drag a healer mage around.

They'll probably be fairly big downsides to not having one of each class. The exploration skills seem like a way to give every class the equivalent of the rogue's traps and locks skill.

And healers will be likely be necessary with no health regen.

Argh. Forgot about that little nuance. Mandatory: 1 healer mage, 1 lockpicking rogue.. because ain't nobody got time to double back for all those chests you come across.

I will be going with a rogue and I usually go with nothing but non-humans of the group. So here hoping for a non-human mage again. Varric always going to stay in my party, so that is two rogue right there.

You didn't need to use warriors in DA:O or DA2. I used warriors because I thought they had pretty good damage builds, but I certainly never wasted talents on aggro traits in DA:O because they were irrelevant.
