I'm hoping this time around, evil options tend towards brutal extremism rather than "lolevil" or chaotic stupid

On another note I would like to see some form of physical changes to eyes and such like mass effect where you would look different depending if you aligned with paragon options or the more funner renegade options.

The problem with that is that the developers have no intention of ever implimenting a karma meter in Dragon Age, and while Hawke's personality changed somewhat in DA2 depending on what kinds of dialogue choices he made often, that's not nececssarily an indicator of evil, deluded, or cruel the Inquisitor is, just how polite/snarky/or rude they are.

But I can see it now my inquisitor having a strange twitch in his left eye after killing thousands of innocents, make it happen bioware  For the glory of the maker, the heretics must die!

@Rajin: I honestly can't tell whether you seriously endorse Anders terrorism, or are just playing along with the whole tongue and cheek nature of about half of this thread.

So fighting for freedom of all mages is an act of terrorism?

Lets discuss the social engineering technique that the chantry uses to force people to obey their laws. To indoctrinate people to think mages are bad people and thus should be afraid of them. If you were a non-believer the Chantry will kill you in the name of the Maker. In most of Thedas if a mage refuses to submit to the teachings and rules of the Chantry, they're branded as an apostate, and hunted down by the Chantries hunters aka Templars. If you help apostates, you can be executed. Grand Cleric Elthina even admit that killing innocent lives never stop the Chantry from defending "The Faith".

So learning the history of the Chantry and seeing what Anders did to the Chantry in Kirkwall.. Whos the real terrorist? It was only time when the Chantry gets an IV full of Karma mg.

Raijin, you're entitled too your opinion, but this thread really ins't the place to discuss whether the Chantry's methods are right or wrong and what should or shouldn't be done to mages. There's like half a dozen others at any given time you could go post in that are actually intended for that debate.

Yeah this thread is to talk about how people want to burn Anders and Morrigan to the stake... but I realize that you've  recognized your mistake because you altered your thread, Archereon. At lest I give you props for doing that.

I agree with OP's title. As would Kreia / Darth Traya.

I have never cared about the distinction in any significant fashion.

@Arcane Warrior Mage Hawke, Meredith was insane and Elthina allowed her tyrant behavior to continue. She was an enabler. She enabled the war between the Templars and the Mages. It was only matter of time. Everything that happen was her fault. Anders could no longer stand around while Mages ,who already passed their Harrowing, be made tranquil. Mages in the circle are sexually and physically abused, and this isn't coming out of Anders mouth. The evidence is right there in the Gallows.

Someone has to be their voice, and Elthina failed. She allowed her KC to continue bully the First Enchanter and his Mages to resort to blood magic making it seem as if the Mages in Kirkwall are out of control. Some of the Templars started showing sympathy for the Mages and help them to escape. Some even join forced with the Mages. Perhaps this was Elthina's plan? Who knows.

In the Order the recruits are told that Mages are not people, and that they cannot be your friends. They're programmed by the Chantry to view Mages as second class to third class citizens.

That doesn't answer my question: "how is dooming a Circle to a merciless slaughter because you want a war heroic and advocating for his kind?"

Geez, guys, I'm anti-Circle too, but this ain't exactly the thread. O.o
I'm all for the extremism, though. DA:O seemed to have more options for evil than II, which seemed to mostly involve Hawke derping around with "Lol! I'm an **** you guys! Slavery, wut???" Rather than random acts of douchebaggery, it would be nice to be extremist for "the cause," whichever side the character is on.

I hope the 'bad' choices make sense. I hate when the choices are between:
1) obviously the right option, that makes the most sense
2) lol look at me being evil (and stupid)

I'd also like choices to be pragmatic or ruthless without being "you're so evil!". DA doesn't have as much of a problem with this as ME though.

Templar order is like modern DRM - they can only hurt/tranqualize and leave defenseless those mages that follow the laws.
Once a mage goes blood mage and bonds with a spirit/demon, templar methods suddenly become useless, and they are on the weak side.

White - Anders.
Grey - Templars.
Brown - Lawful mages.
