the accuracy is horendous, even in cover: without stability mods the gun becomes almost uncontrollabe.

(1) DON'T aim down sight.

(2) Get in closer or use Marksman/Hunter Mode.

If you aren't using it on an accuracy boosted class it is best to stick it down their throat unless they're something like an atlas. CLose quarters + hipfire = accuracy and recoil become irrelevant.

Try it on the Valkyrie, she absolutely destroys with it.

The hurricane: very tough to control, has a horrendous kickback, doesn't have the best range.

But, if you use it on certain classes, apply certain mods, and learn how to handle the kickback and use proper technique...it becomes an extremely deadly weapon, top tier as far as damage is concerned. It certainly earns its reputation and status as a formidable weapon.

I dunno. Let's be fair, PC player experience might be different from consoles. Maybe they do have some tougher time to control it.

its one of those high recoil guns, so it is one of those "either your gonna love it or hate it" guns.

myself, i can handle the recoil, and it helps that i got the hurricane early on in my mp manifest.
so i love it. YMMV....

With 600+ hours in game and can't handle the hurricane the problem is the user. Hurricane is my favorite SMG I use it with all my asaris and some infil

Use the eagle on any accuracy bonus kit.

Did I miss somebody saying "hipfire"? I use it on the AV and score a lot of headshots. Employed mainly for close to medium range encounters

Aiming down the sights gives you a lot of accuracy bonus, just like those powers you advise. If you are not aiming down the sights, a lot of your bullets are missing if you are shooting from any distance. I don't see what is so wrong with the stability mod for the hurricane so long as you don't need a power amp. It improves your damage from range quite a bit and no other armor mod does that.

Console player here, I can use Hurricane with no stability perfectly fine. The horrendous spread makes it meh at medium-long ranges, but it dominates CQC.

You could:

A) Use it on a vanguard, charge, shoot, charge, shoot, rinse and repeat. Getting that close basically removes the need for accuracy.

B) Use Barrage Gear(?), the gear that gives extra thermal clips and weapon stability.

C) Stabilisation Consumable

D) Turian Solider with all the Stability Passives + Marksmen, means your aim only needs to be on point for about 2 seconds. The clip empties FAST.

It took me a bit to get used to it, I feel it is something that is easier to do on PC. But on console we have to make do with what we have.

1. Ascend to masterrace
2. Learn how fast you have to drag your mouse down to completely mitigate the hurrdurricane's recoil without the use of stability mod/equipment/gear/passives
3. ????????

Thank you. I've heard from a fair amount of console players that I just need to l2p though, so maybe I should just try to control the recoil. And/or people are dicks. That's another possibility.

I love that my thread about the Claymore was more controlled than this. I didn't get replies saying I needed to "l2p".

Was not expecting this low brow response BSN. Please, keep classy.

I would say PC players have a bit tougher time in this department just cause of how fast you have to move the mouse each time just to control the recoil. Moving your hand at that speed is harder than just moving your thumb.

There's a learning curve with the recoil (maybe worse on consoles?). I play on PS3 and after a few games getting used to it, plus a few more to really learn the sweet spot compensating for recoil, I can report that it's well worth it.

A few things I can say:

- If what you're shooting at isn't right in front of you, take cover and then fire. Cover compensates for some recoil and also enhances accuracy. Cover is the third mod for this gun and it's very useful.

- If you must fire out of cover... make sure it's right in front of you.

- There's a "sweet spot" for controlling recoil. Some of it has to do with the sensitivity of your controls. For me, on PS3, that means I eventually coached myself to pull down on the right stick just so as I fired. That's really the trick to getting the most out of the gun, since ditching the Stability mod opens up great combos.

- Try it with Extended Mag + Heat Sink + AP or Warp. The real magic of the gun comes when you turn it into a hand cannon that you only reload as you're walking over the corpses of your enemies imho.

The hurricanes theoretical DPS is crazy when compared to it's weight, which is why BSN loves it, but it only applies if the shot's actually hit the target.
It's better to take a stability mod and have the more arrogant BSN'rs mock you than to not take it and miss half your shots.

That's if your aiming down the sights so as to hit enemies at midrange, you really don't need to ADS if using it at point blank range regularly.

If you're using it to partner a sniper rifle such as the widow, however, like I often do, the ability to ADS without being scoped in is useful, to fill the midrange gap between the sniper rifles optimal distance, and the hurricanes effective hipfire range, so the recoil mod is totally worth taking when used like this.

Sacrificing a mag upgrade or a power damage booster to get the stability mod isn't actually that big of a deal, as the reload is quite quick anyway, and the raw power of the hurricane more than makes up for the lack of a power mod, as long as you are actually hitting the target.

On a slight tangent, having recoil increased by ADS, rather than reduced, is stupid and anti-intuitive, especially to players such as myself who have acquired the habit of pop-shotting from other 3rd person shooters such as GoW.

Is this what's causing you grief QU67?

What did you expected then? On host, you don't have much recoil to fight with the turians and, once you get use to controlling it on other kits, you'll be fine.

I used to hate hurricane because of the recoil. I practised and learned to manage the recoil and now I have no problem with it. One of my fav guns. Sometimes I take barrage upgrade for gear but that's when playing platinum where the extra ammo comes handy.

The stability mod is an armor mod. So you will be sacrificing something like a power amp, cyclonic modulator, adrenaline mod etc rather than a weapon mod.
