Because based on concept art, this would seem to be the case.

Well, horns grow from the front of their heads. I guess horns can be of different length and as they get longer the curve backwards.

I was thinking there'd be several different horns to choose from.

I hope this is the case because, while I admire Matt Rhodes' artwork, I would much prefer a female qunari to have larger, DA2-style horns; similar to those the tamassrans in the Those Who Speak comic had.

These stubbier horns make the female qunari look too much like tieflings, IMO.

They are still a work in progress, but I think they'll see in the coming weeks how much we want better, and or a choice of horns.

This may be an attempt to allow kossith players to wear helmets. If they keep the horns small without having them curl back over the head, the PC can at least wear open faced helmets.

Horny Qunari female semi-confirmed!

That said, since Kossith/Qunari/whatever's the official term for their race now seem to have a wide range on the horn issue, going from no horns at all, to large, sweptback four horns and giant nearly horizontal growing two horns I think it'S no big stretch to assume that Qunari can just aswell have little horns at the forehead.

I for one would very much enjoy playing a female Quanri with a really big set on hers though.

edit://
Btw, that last sentence is very deliberately worded if you catch my drift.

I'll admit I hope large horns are at least optional. I'd be willing to trade helmets just for such cool design.

Maybe the large horns can add a slight armor bonus so there isn't as much need for helmets? I'm sure the option to be hornless or have small/severed ones should be available for those that want it, but for those who want to head-butt some b!tches... well.

Having customizable horn size would be a great idea.

Small horns= no armor bonus, but allows you to wear helmets.

Large horns= armor bonus, but prevents you from wearing helmets.

.I'm willing to bet horns can be customized in character creation. That would be like saying we can't adjust elf ears, or dwarf noses.

In the comics, certainly. They could easily have been redesigned since then, or (as others have suggested) could be part of a wider variety of horn designs we haven't yet seen.

I'm not a sci fi person. Or a FPS person. Posted Image

Plus I held a grudge for the longest time because of the changes made to DA2. "Mass Effect with swords" and all that. Now I just figure if all the game features I didn't like in DA2 came from ME (voiced, named, human-only protagonist, dialogue wheel, flashy and explosive "over the shoulder" action, etc.), then I probably won't like it. I like my traditional fantasy RPG's.

I think the topic pictures refer to a typical (mostly)hornless phenotype of Kossith like Sten. They probably want to have more of a distinction now than they did in Origins, so there is only the smaller forehead horns.

Sorry, TPS.

Let me rephrase: I do not like sci fi or shooter games.

Thar ya go.

EDIT: Staying on topic, I hope for large horns as an option for DA:I. ='(

Wow. Qunari are sexy. Love the lady's outfit.

I notice they have elf-like ears, too. Are they distantly related to elves? That should make them even more popular in Thedas.

Maybe long, long ago, one of the ancient, immortal elves got bored and had ... relations, with his halla. And so the qunari were born.  :D

I really hope we can make our qunari look half as good as Rasaan.
