In the demo we saw (see this thread for footage http://social.biowar.../index/17244641) we see the players open up a radial potion menu, and I noticed something rather big.
I didn't see any mana or stamina potions. They could have been sequestered away somewhere, sure, but there's an auto-heal option like in DA2...and none for mana/stamina.
That coupled with the quick recharge featured makes me wonder if the following theory could be true: mana/stamina potions are now either gone or are much rarer, but mana/stamina recharges extremely quickly.
Anyone have thoughts?

I've not seen stamina at all.

Well, stamina and mana are displayed around the character's portrait in a circular manner.

Stamina potions might be missing, but I believe we only saw a warrior's menu, so I expect mana potions are still in.

May only be two kinds of potions now.
One for heath, one for mana for mages.
Time to look at other games where healing was limited and see how well they did.
The one that comes to mind for me is Dragon's Quarter.
A Breathe of Fire game. In it money was tight if I recall, there were a limited number of healing items you could carry, a limted number of areas where you could buy items separated by distance,
and lots of enemies .
One of the few games I've ever given up on.i doubt I got a 5th of the way through the game. It was a flop, mostly because it was completely different from the previous BoF games. Capcom holds the license.
Doubt we'll ever see another game in that series.
Hope this limted healing doesn't bite Bioware like it did Capcom .
