Seriously? Kicked for "kill stealing"

So I was playing the Asari Valkyrie and joined a Gold game in progress against Reapers on FB: White. Was using the Geth Scanner because it is helpful knowing which spawns I can run into and which I cannot. The team was doing really well. There was an AIU, QME, and I think a Phoenix. By the end of the match the AIU was at the top of the scoreboard and I came in second.
Suddenly I got a kick sign. A few seconds went by then another one. Then the final X showed up. :(

Being kicked doesn't happen to me often and I was curious as to why. If there was something I needed to improve on I wanted to know. I could tell they were all friends and I sent a friendly message to the one that scored above me. The response was that the others player felt I was stealing all of their kills.

Wait, what? :huh:

To me kill stealing is when you wait for other players to strip the defenses on an enemy and then take the final blow. I didn't do anything like that. I was in the face of all enemies doing my part as a Valkyrie. I'm wondering if they were confusing an agressive playstyle with kill stealing?

What do you feel qualfies as "kill stealing"?

Well to be fair annihilation field is the worst kill stealing power in the game, I cannot blame them for kicking you, you were most probably kill stealing but not intentionally.

This is a CoOp game. There is no kill stealing, only kill helping. And it wasn't like they were Vorcha or the likes who'd need the kills to get their Bloodlust flowing.

I love your patience with people. My message to being kicked for "kill stealing" would have contained more trolling. Take it as a compliment, they obviously can't handle your skill, so they cry about it and decide to kick you. Their loss...

I prefer the layman terms:
Kill 'em all, collect credits, hope RNG gives booze, play drunk if it gave booze, play angry if it didn't.

You shouldn't have stole those noobs kills. I remember when a rank 52 kicked me for being in the lead and i was only rank 17 xD.

I feel that anyone who truly believes that "kill stealing" in online games is an actual thing is a total dick.
