Can the Fade be conquered?

Anyway, I was replaying DA:O and in the beginning a codex page got my attention. It talked about how the Tevinter Empire scouted the Fade and tried to have some hold over it with little success. Latter they tried to storm the Golden City and, well, **** happened.
And that got me thinking, could they have done something different? Can someone actually control the Fade? And go beyond to the Black City and even the Maker himself?

Conquering the Black City is unlikely as it does not seem... healthy.
Conquering the Maker is even less likely as it's not certain he exists at all.

Aurelian Titus, the villain of the comics, tried to take control of the Fade and he failed pretty miserably.

Since Feynriel can eventually end up in Tevinter to hone his abilities, it's implied that they have a lot of research on this form of magic and Somniari may have been used to in the attempt to take over the Black City
So possible? A tentative yes.
Capable of holding it from the demons? Very unlikely.

So if you were to "invade" an area in the fade and killed all the spirits and demons that inhabit that area, the 'landscape' and items there would simple vanish as well.
When you get done conquering an area, you would probably be left standing in the equivalent of wide open field at night surrounded by a dense fog.
To be able to conquer something... there has to be some permanent to acquire. That only happens in the physical world.

You have better luck conquering the Mariana Trench.

But seriously, I doubt it. The Fade is too big and its denizens are too powerful. A portion? Sure. the whole thing? You'd have to have a cabal of mages or something that was huge.

Why would you want to?
Because the Fade is the realm of dreams. Control of people's dreams usually allows control of people's thought.
Conquering a realm that is by definition chaotic sounds like a rather daunting task however.

Areas of the Fade are currently under the control of powerful demons. I assume it would be possible to wrest control of parts of it, yes.
As far as we know though, 'the Fade' is as large or larger than the world. As no one has managed to conquer all of earth yet, I'm going to suggests it's theoretically possible but highly unlikely.
Parts of it change.vehzeel wrote...
Doesn't it change every time someone dreams?
We have no idea how large it is. The size might be under the control of whomever controls it.Marten Stroud wrote...
Isn't the Fade infinitely vast?

I also thought it was always changing so it very similar to how water takes the shape of the container it is in or like how outer space is in general. Always expanding always and forever changing.Marten Stroud wrote...

Would be an interesting feature (if implemented); you run in, battle demons, secure a 'beach head' and ensure that no more demons come through. Also, since the Fade is so large and (more or less) infinite, a 'horde mode'-like quest or area of the Fade would be well within the realm of possibility, and would not be as out of place as the DA 2 enemy waves were.

The fade is too abstract.
you have to understand that the fade is very different from the material plane. In your incursions in previous games, your body never entered the fade, only your soul. attempts to enter physically into the fade in the past proved catastrophic.
Thats the big problem in DA:I. In small quantities, the fade allows mages to bend reality to their will, to ignore the basic rules that govern reality. With a large scale spill, you can expect reality itself to unravel, and things like the laws of physics to become irrelevant.
