I have messed around with various builds. Granted I just got the game but have 4 characters at level 6. Elf mage, Human Rogue, Dwarf Rogue and Elf Warrior.
Now it appears to me that the mage is screwed because it is doing to much dps and gets the agro right away.
Is there a way to reduce that aggro and still do sufficint damage to be useful.
I ask because I find my self not playing her and really playing either Morrigan or Alistar or Sten and just leaving the game character on auto.
Now I do find my human rogue a blast to play. And since I do play her and leave the AI characters on auto I enjoy it more.
So as a DW rogue who should I be using at these low levels as my group?
Dog, Morrigan, Alistar, Sten and Lillith and did I miss out on someone else that I should have had available at this level

With mages it's usually advisable to have some skill that focus on crowd control. Blood Mage specialization has a good one and Mass Paralysis is a great help in the event that you have two groups that need to be stunned. It sounds like you haven't unlocked Blood Mage yet, so you'll want to get those stun spells when you get the chance. As for that aggro problem, make sure that your tank(s) have taunt as a first thing activated in your tactics menu. The more aggro they build, the easier your life will be and any that slip past them you can stun with the stun spells I mentioned before.
As for your rogue, I think you mean Leliana, not Lilith (ironically that is my character's name). But you're a rogue, so you probably have lockpick so bring some kind of meat shield. If you don't have lockpick, then by all means bring her along. For support, you should have Alistair and Morrigan with you. One to soak damage and one to do damage. Personally, I like to have Wynne in my group as a healer in the place of Morrigan's DPS as I do the Circle Tower first thing anyways to get the stat boosts so I get her early, but everybody has a different preference.
