Vanilla Human Engineer is arguably among the few well-conceived kits in MP.

My build:  http://kalence.drupa...!34251314!EE963

That's the same build I use except on passives it's power/power, not weapon/power.  Get it rite, scrub.

Huge amount of good advice in here for once rather than the usual losilver bs.
As for staying alive. If you stand around shooting and using powers without something in between you and the bad guys you will be dropped fairly quickly in Silver. In Bronze you can get away with it but not here. It's a good practice to get into for Gold and above. If you get hit by a bullet or whatever don't think I'll just kill my target and then move.

Dodge or get into cover anything, rather than stay where you are. You can look for what it was that shot you when you're safe.

Watch your flanks and that sneaky Mauarder coming up behind you.

thanks folks
tried an avenger/phaestron for a change
skirting around the outside when it gets too hot and coming back in at another angle
i don't kill nearly as much as my bruiser friends, but I get lots of assists. Always at the bottom of the pile - not sure how engineers can come out top - but at least i'm dying much less.
just got mobbed in one corner by dragoons though -_- gotta get voip up.

see you on the battlefield.

6/6/6/6/0 ftw! You have to learn the 5 D's of dodgeball.
1. Dodge
2. Dip
3. Duck
4. Dive
5. Dodge

As you keep playing, you'll become more accustomed to the limits and can play a little more aggressively.  You'll still want distance on this kit, though.  Keep redeploying the drone (if you're specced for it), shooting, and sploding from a good distance away, and keep checking your flanks.

As others have said, don't worry about 200% cooldown.  You'll do better with a couple of tenths of a second longer cooldowns and a good weapon.  150% and up is just fine.  If you have the Mattock, try that.  The Phalanx, Vindicator, Phaeston, Tempest, Locust, and Eviscerator are also decent beginner weapons that are fairly light.

EDIT:  Just looked at your manifest.  Try the Arc Pistol - and you might want to take Power Damage at R4 to get the cooldown bonus because it's a little heavy at level 1.  Use Overload to stagger smaller enemies, and then try to hit them in the head with a fully charged Arc Pistol shot.  On Silver, if you hit their head, you will probably one-shot any lower-level enemy.

I've heard the kamikaze drone is the best spec for it. Have yet to try it myself, though.

I wonder if others would also recommend shield damage in final evo.

I think shield damage is only preferable if you're using a powerful weapon that does not ignore shield gate and you're trying to strip their shields completely so you can one-shot them.

Any situation you would benefit from phasic rounds, but don't want to spend them

I suggest using drone to guard your flank. When you hear it start to zap you know you need to pay attention and retreat.

Trying to play aggressively as an engineer to increase score will cause death unless you are using high level gear consumables (cyclonics) and powerful weapons. . Forget about score and have fun trying different builds and just initially concentrate on how to roll use cover and avoid being flanked.

You know OP, there is nothing particularly squishy about the human engineer. The bottom line is that you just need to put a little more time in to the game getting better and getting better Stuff. Go watch some of the excellent videos that people like InvaderOne have made over the last year+. Good Luck!

I go with N7 Hurricane and Talon. My build is 6/6/6/4/4 for Human Female Engineer. For Human Male Engineer it's 0/6/6/6/6. He uses N7 Hurricane and Eviscerator.

As johnnythao89 mentioned, since you get two human engineers, you can use this to your advantage by speccing them differently, then alternating between the two to see what works better for your playstyle.
66653 and 06666 are the most common variants, but feel free to try others.
Vanilla humans are great for experimenting on.
Just ask maelon.

Just want to apologize, I had a look and tested it, radius is quite good on incinerate. I don't know why I was thinking it was only from 1m to 1.5m. In reality, it's 0m to 1.5m.

Thanks to you Element0 for the shocking reaction!

@ Schlave, to be honest, regarding your manifest, it's normal to be 4th on the score. Just play, own money, buy veteran packs and increase your inventory. I'm sure the others players used higher gears.
Don't care the score, Co-op game only need full extraction
