Is DA:I Bioware's "last chance" for you?

But If Bioware or anyone for that matter makes a good game, I'll always buy a great game. Just not pre ordered.

I suspect 90% of the people who claim DA:I is BioWare's last chance will hang around the message board even if they end up hating the game.

No Cass, no sale:P
You know what, I'm changing my answer. Unless Cassandra is a LI, BioWare will never get any of my money ever again.

People do realize that the ME and DA development teams are different teams right?
Yes, but they have the same management. The IPs might be developed separately, but they share a common business strategy.

With many people either being disappointed by SWTOR, DA2 or ME3, I'm just curious how many feel that this is Bioware's last chance to produce a "must buy", a pre-order or limited edition purchase from them. Or is Dragon Age the only series you play? Oooor is DA2 (or those other games, but DA2 is more relevant to DAI) wasn't a disappointment to you at all? This really isn't a thread to bash or praise Bioware, I just want to get a sense of where the fanbase is. 'Cause curiousity and all that.

I say "consider" because there are other factors outside the game itself such as dumb DRM, microtransactions and other business prectices that can ruin a game for me.

What does it matter? Both Dev teams have to deal with EA (the good and the bad).

I won't be buying any other MMO's produced by the SWTOR team, and I may not be buying the next Mass effect game after what happened with 3, but the Dragon age team has not made anything that I actively disliked. Dragon age 2 was slightly disappointing and didn't have enough development time, but I can forgive them for that and plan on sticking with the Dragon age series.

Loved Mass Effect 3
A bit "meh" on swtor but couldn't get a full opinion because lack of friends to play it with.
So overall: I'm happily still with them. Though that does not mean they can mess up and not lose me.

As for being Bioware's last chance, they burned it long ago. Now I'm just keeping an eye on this out of curiosity, I doubt I will buy or play it at all.

They still have different gameplay styles, different design philosophies, and different fanbases (though the fanbases do intersect a little bit). If you are going to bring EA into the discussion than you are talking about a very large number of games and genres are one large umbrella. Might as well start comparing it to Madden and the Battlefield series if you are going to do that.

I liked DA 2 as well, though not as much as origins. However DA 2 was admittedly flawed but not the crap game people make it out to be.

I was never that invested in the ME world or a Shepard I struggled to relate to, so the ME3 ending was fine for me. A rather disappointing end to a rather disappointing series. Now, if something as good as the Citadel DLC was the first game, I might have been upset, but the game really caught my love and attention right at the end with that amazing piece of DLC.
I only hope future DA games will make me feel how Origins made me feel and they continue on for as long as they can make up great stories and great characters and great worlds.
