No. While Bioware has had a few trips, they've never made a bad game.
I think they've earned enough good will to get away with a few mistakes.

Were people this negative even during that Origins days? I mean, it had everything the average forumgoer here seems to want.

I've only played the DA games but will pick up mass effect 4 if they move on to new stuff. Probably will get the new IP if it's half interesting.

Apparenty they were. I've heard tales of people bashing the game as a WoW clone and talking about how far BW had fallen since the good ol' days of BG, and so on and so forth. There's always "that guy" in every fanbase for everything ever made, from the time of its inception until its end.

Obviously EA thinks so if it's true the degree to which they're funding the project.
For me personally, pretty much although my view is that DAI will be a big success.
Ninja Stan says I'm always down on Bioware .
No to the degree he thinks.
shrugs.
Not sure Ill buy the game but it's going to be a big success regardless of what I decide.

Don't you mean the good ol' days of Shattered Steel?

Hey that's my schtick. One warning if you move in on my waffle territory expect a visit from my lawyers. And by lawyers I mean a strongly worded letter of poor spelling and grammar.

But yes this whole "this is BioWares last chance" is nothing new. Expect many claiming they are going to wait and not pre-order to be here day one with it registered finding something to complain about and making the same hollow threats..

Nope. I've loved every Bioware game I have played thus far, flaws and worts and all. Some of them could have been done better, or had things changed, or had longer development time, or or or....! But I still enjoyed the hell out of them.

I expect DAI to be no different for me.

It wasn't as bad, but I don't think developer forums were as visited as much for there wasn't the social interaction that there is now, but it was pretty bad.  A lot of the things people found wrong with Dragon Age 2 were said against Dragon Age: Origins, because of the differences between it and Baldur's Gate.

The only BW game I didn't enjoy was JE because I haven't figured out how to get it to run.

No.
I loved both DAO and DA2, and I am almost certain that I will love DA:I even more.

While it may have been a last chance for some people who are hard to please. I'm not like that at all. I thoroughly enjoy most of bioware's games. I even enjoyed Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3.

I was a bit peeved at the endings for ME3, but the ending cut and resulting DLC after that more then made up for it. Yes, I enjoyed Omega AND Leviathan. And I loved the Citadel dlc. For Dragon Age 2, I thought Legacy was awesome and MOTA was pretty cool. The banter and stuff in both was highly amusing and enjoyable :P

So no, this isn't bioware's last chance. They'd have to royally screw up DA:I for me, and even now... that seems like a long shot since I like what I see.

The ship has sailed for pre-order or must-buy or collector's edition. From BG2 until ME3, every BioWare game I bought I pre-ordered the Collector's Edition (or the like.) After DA2 and ME3, however... no. ME3 was the last chance, and I thought ME3 was going to allay all my fears. Hah.

I still think BioWare is a good game company, and I think they make fine games. But they aren't making "must pre-order collector's edition" games for me anymore. And they were the only company in that category for me.

No, DA:I might be great and make me rethink things, but I'm neither holding my breath nor counting on it. And even if it IS great and makes me rethink, I'm still unlikely to pre-order their game after that.

No, I rate a game on it's indiviudal merits not because of perceived failures from different teams in Bioware.

No I always enjoy Bioware games- they all have customization, good storylines, and entertaining dialogue no matter the gameplay.

No. It's a game company, not a cheating lover.

Oh snap! Was thinking the exact same thing. However… what I don’t understand though, there are a number of people on this forum who actively despise Bioware for it’s perceived transgressions against them, yet they still hang here. What are they hoping to achieve? (Aside from annoying the crap out of everyone!) So in some ways the cheating lover analogy is correct!

Personally – I mostly loved the DA and ME franchises (aside from a few nitpicks), ME3 was a bit of disappointment, for a few reasons, but no where near as disappointing as sequels for some other games I have played. Started playing SWTOR, enjoyable so far, especially as I am not really into MMO type games. So no – this isn’t a ‘last chance’ for me.

Not to hop on the debbie downer train, but I can sympathize with this. DA2 was actually my first foray into pre-ordering, EVER, after being a gamer for over two decades. My letdown basically convinced me that the practice of pre-ordering is simply not one that I believe is ever wise. There will always be plenty of those who will play a game the first day and post reviews, both professional and amateur. That's the best way to determine if you should buy a game.

So, on that hand, I'd have to thank the DA2 team for forever breaking me of the habit. Even if DA:I is amazing, I don't think I'm ever going to be the type that engages in pre-orders/first day buys ever again.

Sums up my thoughts nicely. Hell, some of their "failures" were actually really enjoyable for me.
