I don't think I have ever done this. I even thought it was only possible to use Medi-Gel when you are downed. Learn something new everyday I guess.

You could always learn to reload cancel without the use of Medi-Gel / Rebinding keys

Happens at least  once per game, if not more. Combined with ops packs trolling and having your character go down anyways, I'm not to fond of them.

Worthless xbox D-pad. <_<

Yeah, it's almost as bad as not being able to reload cancel with 100% reliability just by using a single button that doesn't do anything 99% of the time, and that you can map wherever you want it.

The same thing happens with the PS3 d-pad. It's caused many a husk spawn-nuke.

This happens with some frequency when you are using a single shot weapon and you "just know" you can kill that enemy before he kills you...

Geez.  A somewhat frequent occurrence with my GI-Javelin, and when that Marauder Shields or Cerby Engineer sneak-in that one shot from across the map at just that right moment, AND at the tail end of a wave, WITH teammates standing beside me.

"Ah, crap.  Team, stop shooting at him for a sec so I can b!tchslap him for losing a 'gel.  Okay, done.  Kill him."

That, or:

Teammate:  "Oh, dude, why'd you 'gel?  I was right here."
Me:  "I was reload-cancelling."

One of the top reasons I leave my mic at PTT is because I don't want to broadcast my Tourette's.

Most of the time, at least.
There are situations in which you'd have used gel anyway.

But ok, it just happens.
In my experience more so with e.g. Claymoar than Widow/BW or Javelin.
