This is somewhat confusing for me.. How would one figure out an appropriate name for a Qunari character male or female? I considered using Qunlat, but those names are ones given to followers of the Qun, names like Sten, Tallis, or Arishok.

So I don't think it really works for our characters.

A qunari would probably still use Qunlat for his name. Why not? What else are they going to use?

(Hissra would be a good one for a stealth-built rogue, I think. And I have my heart set on using"Tal'Saar" for a mage.)

But a lot of Qunlat names are titles. A Ex-Sten Tal Vashoth wouldn't keep call himself Sten.

Why not? What else are they going to use?

Maybe they'd be named something else by their parents(if their born out of the qun), or maybe they would name themselves?

Our kossith will be free, unchained to the horrors of the Qun, and therefore he/she can decide their own destiny and pick their own name. I.E. we can name them whatever we want.

My jacked manKossith shall call himself Rupert.

Thats pretty awesome. We name our characters, but technically its our characters naming themselves.

A unique blend of roleplaying, and metagaming.. I love it.

Judging by the Qunari Vocabulary, I think Ash-Anaan or Ash-Aqun would be cool names.

The language of his home. He may not even be from Par Vollen.

He could very well be the child from the Starmetal encounter attached to Warden's Keep. Raised on a farm by a human couple.

Where does this game initially take place(like at the start)? Depending on the country I'll probably base my name off that place.

The majority of kossith ex-qunari will probably count Qunlat as the language of their home. Notwithstanding that any number of other things are possible, they're probably not the majority.

Coming up with a name won't be possible until we learn more about what the background is. Depending on where the character is coming from, a "proper" first and last name might be appropriate.

Perhaps if the Iron Bull is actually a companion, I'll name my Qunari lady Steel Ox.

Then we can sound like pornstars together.

Actually, I changed my mind.

Herbert is a much better name than Rupert.

My ginormous male Kossith's name will be Herbert.

Yes, if they're from Par Vollen then Qunlat would be the language of their home.

I specifically said that the PC might not be from Par Vollen. For example, he might have been raised from infancy by humans. On a farm. In Fereldan or Orlais. The statistics on Qunari population distributions are kind of irrelevant.

My Qunari Warriors name will be Ajax. I'm sure they will be free from the Qun.

Except that they give some hint what Bioware is more likely to do.
