Given your manifest, that is the build I would recommend. As you said, Nova's damage on plat is underwhelming so I feel weapon damage on charge is more useful. Power recharge is great especially if you nova first and the charge, that way you're already getting the bonus on your 1st cooldown. But half blast is ok to if you really prefer it.

Taking radius on nova allows you to use it near synch kill enemies and hit them with it without them being close enough to synch you. Just nova then roll away. Incendiary ammo for setting up your own FE's and the raw damage output of the hurricane should help you to contribute more towards the team's total DPS while still beings just as effective of a detonator for the team.

On primes synch killers: shoot, nova just out of their synch range, roll away and repeat.

On anything else: shoot as you/they close the distance, nova once they are close, charge, shoot, nova, charge shoot nova, etc... (If you have half blast then novaing before your 1st charge is less important, this is bfor recharge speed nova)

Hmm, I'll spec my female vanguard for weapon synergy and power recharge on nova to give that build a try. I'm just a bit worried about making nova even weaker than it already is, considering I tend to use nova all the time for i-frames and damage/stagger.

I don't need radius on nova, I've been practicing letting banshee's chase me and stopping to nova at oppurtune times, and I've gotten pretty good at hitting them with my nova without exposing myself to sync kills. Not the most efficient way to kill banshees but it's certainly better than not helping at all.

I was considering taking the hurricane on my novaguard, but... It just feels wrong to not  use a shotgun on the novaguard, y'know? Plus I've used the hurricane on my Havoc and Drellgod and don't like that I have to stand in one spot for a while to do damage, I'd much rather BC-dodge-nova-dodge-wraith-dodge-nova instead of BC'ing an enemy and then standing there for a few seconds to do some damage. I'll still give it a go on my female novaguard, who know's maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Cool, neat to hear that one doesn't need radius on nova to effectively tag sync killers with the edge of it while staying out of reach.

My favorite weapon on the novaguard is actually the Talon, I just didn't mention it as you didn't have it. I've also had decent luck with the piranha with pierce mod and damage barrel, but you really loose any ranged capability by going that route.

As far an nova's damage goes, IMO most of the damage it generates comes from self or team combos that it detonates, which is why I don't personally worry much about it's actual "power damage" based damage.

Edit: btw, I'm replaying ME2 with a vanguard on insanity atm. I'd give up all my powers besides charge to have nova Image IPB

It's certainly tricky to get the hang of, when I first started doing it I was getting grabbed by the banshee after it jumped again or I would do it to soon and not do any damage. Just practice and it'll come to ya. ^_^

I loved the Piranha in the ME3 campaign on my Shepguard. I've tried it in MP, but it's a bit underwhelming at level 3 compared to my Wraith 2, plus I prefer the massive damage per shot of the wraith over having to fire multiple shots to get good damage. I'll definitely give the Piranha another go once I get it to a higher level though.

That's a very good point, especially for platinum.

Yuck, ME2 on insanity? Stagger EVERYWHERE. In cover? Lol harbinger doesn't give a sh*t he'll knock you out of cover and mow you down in half a second on insanity. God I remember getting so insanely pissed off trying to beat ME2 on insanity, especially when you went to the derelict collector ship and get ambushed by tons of collectors with scions on the outskirts knocking you out of cover.

So glad you can't be staggered in cover anymore.

There's a pretty easy trick to avoiding Harbinger's slow moving cover buster attack. Just stay in cover and move left to right as it's coming at you, it turns slowly so you can dodge it by doing so.

That would have been useful to know a few years ago when I was obsessed with ME2.
