Indeed, and should be noted as a catch-22, DS casting is buggy off host and you may need to attempt 2, 3, 4 times at times in order for you to actually toss the green ball.
Actually I find it easiest to stop casting it all together until the original cast runs its course and the ball would normally dissolve so you could cast it again with out detonating. That way you don't run into phantom cooldowns (I hate those things) and can get back into the action sooner. That's what works for me at least.
