Hoping we'll get a normal run/stance animation for a female PC this time

Sure, femHawke's run was very distinct and femShep sat a chair like a man, and I would like the former to be less pronounced in style and the latter to be fixed, but I don't understand how this bothers people to such a degree. I also like the way femHawke stands and can see nothing wrong with femShep apart from the sitting issue.

BioWare must be really nailing it with DA3 if all people have to **** about is walking animations.
I'm sure that they'd be glad if the only complaint after DAI's release will be this.

And the dodge roll. And the 'pull enemies towards you' ability for warriors. And the no health regen feature. And-
Nope, still the BSN.

I never paid attention in Mass Effect, but I actually kinda really liked the female walking animation in DA2.
I thought it looked awesome. (And I don't particularly mind watching her swingin' hips when I play.)
This. I didn't think the running was much different, but the walking certainly was and I didn't mind it. In fact, I liked the way fem Hawke walks- it's a nice feminine touch.

I warned you, did not I? <-)Oh.my.god.
Well, there were some great things about playing femShep ( like Jen Hale), but animation is not on that list, yes. I can only repeat myself here - it's better to have an awkward female animation, than shared one. Does not give that... thing on the link a right to exist, though. That's not an 'awkward animation', that was a slap on the face to all female players and all who care for femShep, really. The fact that fShepard had male animations most of times made the game cringeworthy.

And in regards to Vivienne's sway in the PAX video, that sort of seems to make sense for her character, being classy and Orlesian and all. I can't imagine the exaggerated hip swing on a dwarf or qunari PC. Or Cassandra, Seeker Princess. =P

The amusing thing is that the walking and running animations for male PCs aren't normal either, but they're not *feminine* so no one cares.
I care mentioned several times how much I hated ME2's MShep's lumbering gorilla walk.
I just don't usually care about it enough to demand a change. Other things are more important to me.
(Also ME1 shows you can have a shared animation rig without it looking ridculous. MShep walked a wee bit like a woman and femShep walked a wee bit like a man and it was fine).

When you run, do you thrust out one hip and sway your upper torso in the opposite direction with your arms delicately bent at the elbow? If so, you probably give your chiropractor a lot of business.Crazy Eyed One wrote...
I stand the same way that Female Hawke does! I put extra weight on one leg usually my left and I actually find it really comfortable and I'm pretty sure my hip isn't dislocated.
The walking/idle animations bug me less than the running ones. The way people stand and walk is a personal thing, so there's bound to be a lot of variation. People generally run because they're in a hurry, though. They don't do swishy things with their arms or guage their stride for maximum butt bounce. Film a male and a female sprinter from behind and they'll probably look quite similar.

I do find it amusing how so many people act as if Bioware is a pinnacle for what the treatment of females should be like in video games. They are alright, but certainly not the top.
But yeah, the animators need to research how people run/walk.Can you think of any studio with greater focus on equality?Morocco Mole wrote...

I loved ME1 animations for femShep, same as guyShep as far as I know.
ME2's felt a bit weird given femShep's petite structure, I suppose they were made for guyShep - she was running like a heavy-weight fighter, but i got used to them.
ME3's were just very bad, but that's more of a general thing imo, not femShep specific.

Different people ?
How will anything be solved this way?
DA:O animations. When Bioware needs answers, they should look towards DA: O.

In anticipation of being told to "google it yourself", I've done just that and nothing I've read about the studio or their games mentions any attention being paid to "equal representation" or anything similar.

They are trying give them some credit. I love having a fem hero that is different than the male hero and I'd hate to lose that because of the above.
