I think by the time DA:I comes out I'll be at my seventeenth. That sounds unhealthy, even for me.
I *breathes deeply* admit I have a problem. And I need help.
The cookies are helping though, so thanks!

lightweights.

I'm not even going to say how many completed playthroughs of Origins and DA:2 I have....(only three with Origins including Awakening, and one with Golems and Witch Hunt though)...because it may be embarassing.

I have a Toshiba Qosmio x500-S1811....hoping that it will up to the task for DA:I.....but if not.....I want to know so I can buy a new laptop!

I am so dying to replay DA:O and DA2... I have been for quite some time now. I've just got such a backlog I'm working through...and GTA V is on the way...

*sigh* My 2014 New Year's resolution is to play both games back to back before the release of DA:I

I actually played 2 first... and I got on BSN to registert the game, and saw all the hating on it, and was like WHAAAAA this is a terrific game.. Everyone was talking about amazing the first one was.. So.. I went to gamestop, bought a brand spaking new "Ultimate Edition" .... and DE----voured the game.. and then went through two again, with my save, and then rinse and repeat with every race, background story... still today .. almost 3 years later, I have never REALLY stopped playing it ...I play other games.. but i ALWAYS go back to Dragon age.. Always.. but I have been a fan of Bioware... since... I guess Always. I never even knew I was playing Bioware games, at the time, I never paid attention.. now that I'm older, and wiser. I notice a lot of things. They motivated me to get into the business.. sort of. I'm a Graphic Designer, and I work for a giant newspaper in my city. I'm working my way to Edmonton!! Watch for me!!! I will make it there one day!

I've been a Bioware fan since the first Baldurs gate. So I was following Dragon Age's development since it was first hinted as a mysterious new IP. DA: O is my most replayed game and DA 2 my second most replayed game. Before them, it was the Baldurs Gate series.

I bought ME2 in March of 2010 after seeing so much about it.  A birthday gift to myself.  Backtracked and played ME1.  I wanted more RPG goodness.  I tried FF XIII and hated it.  I looked up other games and kept hearing about DA:O and DA2 (cuz I pretty much lived in the ME universe for most of 2010 and into 2011).  I traded FF XIII in and used the money to get the Ultimate edition of DA:O.

Here's a pic of my son from over 2 years ago holding my controller during the time I played DA:O my first playthru.

I had a boyfriend who was a big fan of Baldur's gate and Bioware .
Sometimes he would talk about this games like they were the best things ever created by humans.
And he had a thing for someone called "Viconia " , he always used to squee and glee a bit when he talked about her ( It was annoying)

Anyway I learned about "rpg " games and I thought :well it sounds interesting!
I tried BAldur's gate , rpg tabletop , Neverwinter nights , ES:Morrowind ,probably other stuff I can't remember and to be honest :It wasn't fun.
For some reason it just didn't work for me.

A few Years later ,I was bored and I went on a cruise for a rpg ( because killing dragons , adventure , roleplay , romance! it just sounds so great!)
I read some review and people were talking about DA:O.It seems interesting , I read there were good romances in the game , and I wanted badly a Viconia too.
So I bought it and actually really liked it ..

that's a fair question... I was one of those wonderful WOW people for far to many years to count, when my PC was in for service one day I happened upon this wonderful little title DAO that caught my eye...  OOOOHHH new addiction says I, grabbing said wonderous piece of Nirvana I ran as quickly as I could to the nerdy little cashier guy yelling "gimmie" throwing my credit card at him.

Little nerdy cashier guy says "So, your a gamer huh?"

apparently they hire very intelligent people there, mind readers too... any way I digress....

I raced home ( Mario Andretti style) put my new prize in my xbox and began to fall into a pixalated coma....

Had so much fun with it I thought I must have this on my PC...that my friends is my tale of me and my introduction to DA eventually I did meet DA2 and of course the DLC's

I see all these woman playing this game. Yet, Dragon Age has been a downfall to my relationships. I'm 27, and lost... I know at least 1 girlfriend since I started playing it. I've begged them to try it out, and go through Origins, just to see what its like.. but they WONT.. and I love to play it. I've always hoped to be moseying around Gamestop one day, and bump into a girl talking about it.. with an aboved mentioned Nerdy Cashier... but ALAS... I have not... I'm cute too! UGH....

My son had talked me into trying Mass Effect (which I insisted I would hate cuz it was a shooter game, but ended up loving it).  When he saw how much I was enjoying ME he said to me "If you like ME you should try DA, I think you'll like it even more since it's the kinda stuff you like anyways."  Meaning magic/knights/dragons that kind of thing.  He was right and he is the reason I am addicted to both games series, lol.

*lol* @ maliluka's story....

We played Baulder's gate on the PS2....Champions of Norath and the like....they were fun, but not quite what I was looking for in a game....I totally credit DA:O with getting me into (addicted) to games.

We got the game right before I had to go out of town for work for an extended trip where I would be by myself not working over the course of two weekends....

I fired up the game Friday evening.....played all the way through on the PS3 until 5 am on Sunday. Did not sleep. Killed the Archdemon, yelled, did a double fist pump in the air....then went to bed for a total of 45 min.....went to airport and dreamed about the game.

Got to Louisiana sunday night and decided that I HAD to find a copy of the game for my work laptop. Probably annoyed the coworker I was with for the first three days talking about it's awesomeness from just 1 fast non-complete playthrough....

Called every game store in town on Monday during down times (yeah to smart phones and internet searches!)...nobody had it for PC. Went to Walmart to get some supplies for field work.....decided to walk through the game section....was depressed, I didn't see it....got back to the hotel that night and it was mentioned to me that I could buy the game digitally and download it......Whaaaaaat???? So I bought it, and had it downloading while I was sleeping and at work the next day.....by Wed night I was ready to play

I couldn't figure out the graphics issues with my work laptop (it was at the low-middle end for specs to run the game) and played half-way through my first playthrough on PC with a red haze over the screen....until I realized I needed to udpate the graphics drivers.....Joy when I got that figured out.

Those two weekends where I was by myself...I'd go to the store on Friday night after finishing work, buy diet sodas and food for the weekend....and not leave the room. Don't recall sleeping much either.

I play SIMS so I already had Origin installed on my PC and one day it pooped up with "get one of our games for free".  I chose DA:O and was hooked.  I then went on to buy all the DLCs, DA2 (and the DLCs) and all the ME games.

@ConvictedFish I just think its funny when people get pre conceived notions what a " gamer" should look like. Honestly I am sure I am not the only one who has stood in line at midnight with a bunch of people to go pick up a collectors edition of a new game and be asked " oh my god your a gamer?"

And it just blows their mind that you probably know more about the game, franchise and everything else....
