Of course all of us are glad that they're taking the extra year, given we're getting multiple races back and other goodies as a result. But that doesn't mean the wait won't be agony... the point of the thread isn't to whine about wanting the game to be released earlier, it's a support group of people who can't wait for the game's release in the sense that we're crazy with excitement.
Even those of us who promised we wouldn't be.
I was so hyped for DA2 after Origins, that its relatively swift release cycle didn't concern me overmuch. Loved the look of the trailers, loved the excitement you could see amongst the development team...then came away with deep-seated anger at the finished product.
So having nailed my colours to the mast as a DA2 detractor and inflicted an awful lot of snark onto the BSN, I'd already half convinced myself that I was going to have to part ways with the DA franchise. It had simply taken a different direction, no longer to my taste. A terrible shame, given how brilliant DA:O was but, there we go. Wish Bioware and DA fans all the best, etc, but whatever happened, I would not be allowing myself to get hyped for DA:I.
Okay, there's now been an awesome trailer. Been here before, I thought. Then Gameinformer's month-long drip feed of info. And Mike's announcement of multiple races. And people not just saying "You know what guys, we get why you had issues with DA2, but lets talk about all the DA2 features we're bringing back..." but showing that yeah, they got what some of the issues were with DA2, look how we're already solving them.
...and somehow in this process, I realised that not only am I still very much a fan of Bioware, but I'm starting to become a lot more interested in DA:I than I was expecting. Its going to be a long year... :innocent:
