Congratulations! Glad to have been of help. :)
For the gargoyles I have a suggestion: try to use an humanity in the nearest bonfire to become human, then you can either: summon other players to help you with the bosses OR if you're playing offline (and I understand if that's the case, I usually play offline myself), you can find two npcs you can summon, provided you spoke to them: one is Knight Solaire, you meet him just before the bridge with the wyvern (coming from the taurus tower, instead of going left to the bridge, go right to the stairs, you'll find a guy with an armor decorated with a smiling sun): speak to him twice and say "yes" to whatever he's asking, he'll give you a white stone which you can use to be summoned yourself by other players in order to help them, and thanks to the fact that you spoke to him, you'll start seeing his signature (it's a golden streak on the ground that you can click) before some bosses, if you click it his golden ghost will appear to help you. The second guy you can obtain aid from (but only for two bosses, one is the gargoyle fight, the other is in an area you'll arrive shortly) is Knight Lautrec, he has a golden armour, so  he's easily recognized: as with Solaire, you must speak to him first; to find him, go in the church where there was a Channeler (the enemy in a funny robe who spams magic from above and doesn't respawn when killed) and his minions (who respawn, but they're easy), go to the left up to a set of stairs and keep your shield up, because a balder knight will come at you, kill him; when this is done, you should see a portion of the wall that seems breakable (it looks blocked with wood planks), hit it with your weapon and it will indeed break and reveal a passage. Go up the stairs and you will find Lautrec in a cell, he'll ask you to free him: in order to do so, you must have either the master key (gift chosen at character creation OR bought from a merchant, but it'll be too late then) or the mysterious key, which you should have gotten on your way to the church (if not, I'll explain where you can find it). Once you free Lautrec, go to the firelink shrine and you'll find him where the firekeeper is (down the stairs next to the pessimist warrior), talk to him and he'll give you a reward for freeing him (it won't look like much, but the item he gives you has its uses, so keep it ;) ). Now that you have spoken to him in firelink and gotten your reward, you'll see his summoning sign before the gargoyles (when you go up the first ladder, if instead of climbing the other you turn around, you'll see it on the other side of the ledge, it's a white streak; Solaire's is right in front of the fog wall, you can't miss it).

If all else fails, let me know and I'll go online to aid you personally :)

When you fight the gargoyles, try to cut the tail of the fist one, it will net you a nice axe ;)

Thanks for the tips, I'm not playing right now so I have no idea if I have the key or not (I choose the old witch ring as my starter item), but at least I already found the first NPC you mentioned, will go look for the 2nd once I start up the game again. I'd love to play with you, but sadly my playtimes are really irregular and I don't know when I'll have time to play myself, so planning ahead is pretty much impossible for me until May.

GO FOR DA TAIL!!!!!

Hehe, I will! :D

I'll post once I've killed the gargoyle, and thanks again for the help!

You're welcome! :D I don't think you have the master key (unless your character class is thief, thieves start with the key as default and can choose another gift to boot :)), but fear not! To free the second character you can find a key to his cell, which you may have found already; if not:

Spoiler

As for playing together, don't worry about the timelines, if you're playing and find yourself in need of aid, try to send me a pm, there's a decent chance that I'll be free, since I currently don't have to attend to classes or to do exams. Give it a try, you'll never know. :)
Also, tell me which level is your character, or I still wouldn't be able to join you game because my character may be either too low or too high level to be summoned (co-op players may be summoned and summon white and gold phantoms with a variation of +- 10% from their level, ie a level 12 character may be summoned only by level 1 to 23 players and can summon only players from level 2-24). If I know your level I may create a character and level her up to the correct level in a couple of days, if I don't already have one. :)

Edit: Oh, another thing: are you on pc? because if not I'm not sure if we can play together, I dont' think the game supports cross platform online play. :(

I already had the key, hehe. (I'm the type who has to go explore eevery part of every room, so it's not surprising!)

Currently my character is lvl 13, and yes, I'm on the pc!

Ahaha, yes I'm like that too, it's a good habit. :D

Awesome! Level 13, eh? well, it seems like I did a good thing by starting a new character, the one I was using was too high level to be summoned. I already beat the taurus demon with the new character, so I'll just have to reach the church, make a checkpoint where the blacksmith is and I'll be ready to help if it's needed, shouldn't take more than a few hours. :)

Just beat the gargoyle on my own! xD

Got the tail axe, and a helmet. Damn it, if I knew you were that close to me I'd have waited. :(

Great job! :D

You got lucky, the helmet doesn't drop always, and it's actually quite good :) The gargoyles also have a chance to drop an halberd (which is awesome) and a shield (not so awesome).
Don't feel bad, there will be other opportunities to do some co-op, instead feel proud that you managed to defeat the gargoyles on your own and got to cut the tail to boot. ;)
I just kicked the armored boar ass (and of course he dropped an helmet that I won't use on this character, this happens all the time, ugh :pinched: ) and I'm headed to the church, I'll try to beat up the gargoyles so that I'll be ready in case you need me. :)  Oh, and don't forget to improve your estus flask with the firekeeper soul if you haven't already: bring it to the blond mute lady below the firelink shrine and she'll upgrade the flask with the soul. ^_^

Also, while I was chopping the boar I heard the bells' sound, I think I might have heard you. :D

God this makes me want to start up Dark Souls again, I was up to Iron Golem on my new character. Katana pyro knights are not that effective against Iron Golems. :(

Join us, we have cookies. :) Also, summon the npc Black Iron Tarkus, get some popcorn and watch him utterly destroy the golem in a couple of minutes...dude is built like a tank. ;)

Because a game based on the franchise did better than a so called reboot of said franchise?  *Cough* Dishonored *Cough*

Yea, I got Thief also but I'm not playing it constantly. I remember the good old days of Thief, especially the second and playing that for hours, Thief 4 this one is eh.

Trying to find something to past time while I wait for DA:I. Second Son better be good, then Watchdogs, I can't take this wait. Even worse they didn't offer the pre-order yet. I remember waiting to see if DA:O went gold and then we got the news on the old forum. I'm getting old.

Lots of people are talking about dragons dogma here on BSN (is it still called BSN?), do you think it's worth getting perhaps?

Anyways, my netwrok crashed sometime after I posted my previous post here, so I wasn't able to report my progress. :P

I'm now somewhere areound lvl 25 or so (can't remember exactly), and I'm sitting by the hidden bonfire next to the closed gate leading to the artorias DLC in darkroot garden. I've found the elite knight set, wolf signet ring, and the shield that's guarded by the golden knight at the bottom the the darkroot basin. I engaged the butterfly boss twice but pretty much instantly died. :(

Tonight I'll go upgrade the flask like you mentioned!

Also, any tips on how to kill the headless creature right next to the blacksmith? All I can do is run past him.

I use magic; pyro or sorcery will do the trick against the butterfly.

The headless demon, you have to keep strafing on it's right side. Use a shield with full physical block to block majority of his attacks, put up your shield only when he strikes and bring it down when he isn't to maximize stamina regen. He has a jump attack which you'll have to learn to anticipate and when he does the attack roll out of the way you can't block it.

Yes, Dragon's Dogma has really fun combat but the story is really kinda lackluster but it does have it's awesome moments. If you are planning on buying which I'd recommend buy the Dark Arisen expansion pack. It comes with both the original game, 'DLC' fetch quests and the expansion itself which is better than the original campaign.

I'm still undecided on dragon's dogma, once I finish dark souls, which is a blast to play, I might buy it. I'll probably get dark souls 2 first, if it is released on pc by the time I finish the first game.

With the exception of a few games, those are pretty much all games I have to finish (well, actually there are a lot more than those, I'll need 10 lives just to finish them...damn you, Steam sales!).

Dragon's Dogma is well worth it, IMHO. The storyline isn't that bad (just watch out for the romance mechanics or you will risk to find your character smooching a burly blacksmith just because he/she talked to him too much an bought things in his shop :pinched: ), and the gameplay is quite fun. :)
