The depths will lead you to Blightown take A LOT OF TOXIC resistance about 15 should do and take about twice as many poison or if you are feeling like you want to dance with the devil, you can head to the bottom of Darkroot Basin (go down the long windy path and go down the elevator and head left past the wyverns or lightning dragons can't remember what they're called and passed the undead dragon loot the stuff near him and he'll awaken. If you watch his movements and attack from his left you should make quick work of him.

And go down the long windy tunnel past the fat smelly guys who can poison you and your in Blightown via the hard way. I cannot remember where to find the key to the shortcut I'm sorry via the darkroot entrance.

The depths entrance is much more infuriating not to find but to traverse, the entrance to Blightown is two giant wooden doors near the bottom of the giant 'slippery slide'. Also in Blightown the dart shooters that cause toxic DO NOT respawn after you kill them and you shall be thankful, also DO NOT TAKE LARGE AMOUNTS OF SOULS YOU WILL REGRET IT LIKE I!

Now for what I'm doing I'm playing the original Shadow Warrior. I can't believe how much I missed those old types of FPS. There is actual challenge I'm happy. But I got stuck on level 4's puzzle and I have to redo the whole level and lose all my stuff :(

Where should I go next? I though the depths would lead me to blighttown, but it seems to be a dead end.

The Dephts will lead you to Blighttown.

The normal path to Blighttwon (that is, the only path without the Master Key) is to reach that hallway with 4 different paths (from the Bonfire is right and down the ladder next to the stairs). There's a broken gate with a door on the other side and a merchant, Domhnall, on the left. Open the door with the key and go down the ladder. You're now in Blighttown :)

You won't like the place.

It's better than Lost Izalith.

Yeah, Lost Izalith is pretty bad as well. I tend to erase that place from my memory.

Blighttown is laggy, and Lost Izalith is hellish, but at least they have bonfires.

Lookin' at you, New Londo.

Thanks for all the comments, appreciated! :)

I'll keep going later today, think I'll use the depths entrance. it's closer, and I want to see what all the fuss is about. Besides, my inventory is filled with those purple moss itmes that remove poison, thanks to grinding stone soldiers and the walking trees in darkroot garden.

Take some with white moss on them as well. FOR THE LOVE OF SOLAIRE!!!! If you don't you'll get horribly Dark Soul'd.

If you have the Spider shield, the red one with a spider drawing on it, bring it with you and use it! It blocks poisoning strikes, but it won't stop poisoning obtained by walking in certain areas. Still, it's extremely useful to block certain enemies down there and not take poison build up. Wear armor that gives you a lot of poison resistance, like the thief set and the shadow set that you'll find in the area. If you have bought the ring of poison resistance from the guy dressed in black in the bell tower, wear it.
And yes, you can give the embers to the blacksmith whenever you want, if you don't give them the first time they'll keep asking. :)

Good luck with blight town, it's not too bad after you get to know the area a bit. ;)

Edit: oh, and there's a bonfire in the depths, it's hidden behind a door, you should have found the key exploring the area.

Now, there's no need to get angry.  :(
I found that once I knew where the enemies are positioned and where to jump or not, I can go much faster and without too many problems, expecially considering that the damned poisoning snipers don't respawn once you kill them. Of course, that's my personal experience, so perhaps others feels differently. I do apologize if I somehow offended you or other players, that wasn't my intention.

I think I looted a shadow set from those ninjas before the capra demon, but maybe I'm remembering wrong.

Luckily I already have a spider shield since i play as the bandit class, so at least I have that. I suppose I could run all the way back to the bell tower just to get the ring, but That feels like a hussle. I'll try my luck and if I get too mad I'll go get it I think.

Sorry I meant it as a joke. As I've lost so many souls there, it brings back painful memories.

If you have the set, use it, it's good to slow the poison build up. And keep the shield handy, it's your best friend down there. :)
Don't worry about the ring, see if you can manage to go through the area without it as it is a long way to go there and it costs quite a few souls (about 12/15 k IIRC), I mentioned it in case you already bought it before. I usually buy every item that seems "unique" if I come across a new vendor, to the point of grindind souls until I have everything, but that's just me being a bit ocd. ^^'

No worries, it can be difficult to decipher the tone of a written sentence. We're good. ^_^
I understand where you're coming from, I myself suffered many a horrible deaths in that place, but once I learned the layout and the positioning of both enemies and loot, I started to become faster in getting through that area in subsequent playthroughs. One thing I find myself to do reluctantly is lighting and resting at the first bonfire: when I manage to get there with all the enemies dead and a decent amount of estus left, I usually prefer to just press on and get to the bottom of the area; of course, that means that if I die i get sent back to the depths, but if I succeed I don't need to constantly be on my toes because all the enemies have respawned and I might get ambushed from every side. But that's not something I would recommend unless you know the area well.

Alright, I finished blighttown, killed Quelaag, joined the chaos covenant (Quelaag's sister broke my heart, btw) and killed the ceaseless discharge. I tried entering the ruins that were made accessible after discharge died, but the horde of capra demons were pretty much impossible. Instead I ran through the valley of drakes, looted the shield and sword by the undead dragon, and went to sen's fortress. Is this where I should be now, or should I do something else before braving the fortress?

Btw, here are my current stats and the gear I'm using. If you have any suggestions on some better gear I should use, please tell me. I'm a sword n' board warrior.

Drake sword

Dragon crest shield

Gargoyle helm

elite knight armor

elite knight gauntlets

elite knight leggings

wolf ring

ring of the evil eye

Level: 42

Vitality: 20

Attunement: 8

Endurance: 18

Strength: 31

Dexterity: 14

Resistance: 11

Intelligence: 8

Faith: 14

You're doing fine, Sen's Fortress is the way. :)

Edit: did you remeber to uprgrade the flasks, yes? And you should probably check on the Firelink lady.

I did, my flasks are +2 now (found the 2nd fire keeper soul in blighttown). I also noticed that the firekeeper in firelink is gone, and gave me an entire set of armor as loot for checking! Sadly the guy that I saved by the first bell tower that used to sit in front of her is gone aswell. That makes me kinda sad, since that guy helped me kill the bell gargoyle.

EDIT: I forgot, but I also looted something called black eye orb (or something like that, at least), that says it allows me to enter the realm of a fire keeper murderer? Did my bro kill the fire keeper? :o

I tried to use it but the option to use it is blacked out.

I also met this giant black snake with freaky teeth telling me to find the lordvessel, which was the thing you told me to get aswell if I remember correctly. In any case I'm t sen's fortress now, those snakemen are a real pain, especially the first two since killing one at a time is easy but two is really hard. So far I've managed to get to the 2nd rolling boulder, but I ran out of flasks and I didn't outrun it in time.

When you get her soul back don't use it return it to Firelink shrine. I made that mistake myself. You have to use the Black Eye Orb in Arnor Londo where you fight two sentinels near the fog white door.

Ah yes Sen's Fortress that place is going to destroy you. Even with my Pyro-Knight I had trouble dealing with two lizard men simply because they hit like a ton of bricks and murder your stamina if you defend.

Yes, Lautrec...sorry if I didn' tell you anything, but I didn't want to spoil this mini-plot for you. I never understood why he kills that poor woman, all I know is that I always kill the jerk and resurrect the poor lady.
As True Evil said, you will be able to use that eye orb in Anor Londo, you'll know when you reach the correct area because on your screen will pop a message saying something along the lines of "You feel the orb tremble, perhaps you are near to his owner".
Then you'll have to use the orb and you'll find yourself in blue spirit form as a phantom of vengeance in the world of Lautre;: be careful, he's not alone, he has two buddies, one is a tank with spear and shield and one is a mage who just loves to spam greater soul arrows that hurt like hell.
If you don't mind to cheese the fight a bit and make the odds even (a 1 vs 1 with Lautrec), before going there buy some poison arrows from the undead woman, the one who also sells purple mosses for blight town, then, when you appear in Lautrec's world, equip them with your bow and without moving from the spot you find yourself in pelt his two buddies with the poisoned arrows, eventually they'll die for the damage over time. Then you can have a fair duel with Lautrec. Hint: his weapons completely ignore shields, so instead of blocking his attacks, roll away from them.
Once he's dead you will obtain the soul of the Firekeeper lady, if you go back to Firelink Shrine and use the soul on the spot where she could be found (don't use it from your inventory, click the cage and a prompt to use the soul will appear), you'll resurrect her. :)

About your build: I see you have highish strenght and still use the drake sword that, while great at the beginning, doesn't scale with any stat and has very poor reach. Why don't you try to use a plain longsword upgraded to +5 or even better, a bastard sword (you can buy it from the blacksmith near the undead church) upgraded to +5: better reach, the damage is more or less the same and will keep raising the more you level your strenght (be careful, for strenght after 40 points you start getting diminishing returns, as in after that threshold you'll need to spend more points to receive less and less bonuses).

You could do with some more stamina as well, and perhaps equipping the Grass Crest shield might be better: it has only 95% physical damage resistance, so you'll take chip damage from enemies, but while it's equipped it makes your stamina regenerate faster. Faster stamina regeneration = very good, no matter what your build is.

Also, you might want to try and kill Havel for his ring: when equipped it increases your equip load, so instead of having a fat roll (slow and sluggish) you can mid roll (not slow but not as fast as the "fast roll") and be less vulnerable when dodging. To kill Havel easily I'm afraid you might have to cheese him, unless you master the art of backstabbing and/or parrying and reposting. If you search on youtube, you'll find plenty of players showing how to kill him easily. Trust me, that ring is useful. :)

I would also suggest to try different kinds of weapons: if you find a weapon you can equip, try it to see if the moveset is to your liking: in this game the moveset of a weapon is often more important than the damage it does.

I agree with Antaine: the Drake Sword is ok now, but soon it won't be as powerful and you might want to try different weapons that fit your playstyle and your build. You should have the large ember now, so you might be able to upgrade your favourite weapon to at least +6.

And that Lautrec guy... I thought he was sinister, but I really wasn't expecting that :/

Ah, regarding those first two lizard men at the beginning of Sen's fortress: if you want to get one of them out of the way relatively fast, you might want to enter the room without activating the trap on the floor, then aggro the 2 lizards, get back to the door and wait until they're standing in front of you, then activate the trap and watch those 3 darts inflicting some damage.

Good luck! :)

Yes, Lautrec is definitely not a bro. I will never understand what that poor lady did to him. :\

I would also recommend to bring a bow with you, and use it to pull enemies one by one or even kill them by far, when possible.

Thanks for all the tips, I'll definitely try them out!

About that Havel guy, I remember one of my older characters had the master key as the starter item, and ran down to him before I went to fight the taurus demon. When he started running up the stairs after me it scared the crap out of me! Even when I was on my way to the taurus demon on the character I'm currently playing I was still afraid that he'd burst through that locked door. When I first saw him I thought he was some kind of giant walking mushroom aswell; didn't occur to me that it was just his armor that looked like that.

BTW, I got a man-serpent greatsword earlier, would that be a better weapon than a common longsword or bastard sword?

The man-serpent is a good weapon, but so is the bastard sword. Longsword I'm not so sure, but really, almost any weapon can be good if it suits your playstyle.

Choose and upgrade what feels right to you :)

Oh, and obviously nothing forces you to upgrade and use only one weapon. At the end of Anor Londo with my first character I had 2 main weapons (one for bosses and one for normal enemies) that I upgraded to +10 and 3-4 other weapons to +5 just to experience a change of pace once in a while.

I used two different katana's one fire, one straight upgrade, Divine Server, a bow (can't remember what path I had it on) and my pyromancy. Play with your new weapons until you find one that is perfect also always have a divine weapon and an occult doesn't hurt either.

The long sword can actually be a good weapon. The Man-Serpent greatsword is considered one of the best weapons for a strenght - based character.
Try all the weapons you come across and decide which moveset you like the most, then upgrade that weapon and enjoy it. :)

Lightning and fire/chaos weapons are a solid choice for an elemental weapon, most enemies in the game are weak to either one or the other.

As for Havel, he hits quite hard, but can be cheesed by even a level 1 character. If you decide to take on him in a fair fight, you have to learn to backstab and parry/riposte, otherwise the fight could go on for too long.

If I get an elemental weapon upgrade I'll probably go with chaos. Chaos is never a bad thing and I'm already a chaos servant. Gotta stick with my RP, am I right? :P
