I plan on starting a femshep playthrough (haven't decided with just 3 or the entire
trilogy) after I finish another playthrough as a paragon broshep
(loving the engineer!). I'm actually really looking forward to it since she doesn't seem to be hypersexualized and Hale seems to help reinforce a strong robust character as well. I've never done a renegade playthrough before, so I was wondering how it is as femshep? I know it's down to personal preference, but I would like to get a general feel. Thanks in advance..

I like my femShep vanguard (war hero) more as a paragade. My BroShep soldier (ruthless) fits the renegade more.

Spamming multiple threads with this, Meer or Hale, is annoying.

Anyway, Hale's more Paragon than Renegade. Her Renegade acting isn't so good.

I agree that she fits more paragon I general. Her tone of voice doesn't seem so fitting with some of the renegade options to me. A fair example is hanging up on the council, which is funnier with Meer.

While both VA's had their strength and weaknesses, across the entire series I thought Meer's performance was far superior to Hale's.

Hale over-emoted too often, and some of her lines could have benefited from a more subtle delivery.

Sorry, but I think a renagade femShep is GREAT! I am doing a second playthrough as her being a total renagade. I think she fits the roll much better then manshep.

I played all my femsheps renegon, cos my shepard is paragade, but I usually lost interest halfway through.

Terrible. Hale is better with the soft stuff, and ultimately makes for a lousy Renegade character.

Avid broshep fan here, but Hale is just incredible as Shepard.

When it comes to being a bad ass renegade, Hale is top notch. All one needs to do is see her speech before/during the Suicide Mission. Meer's rendition doesn't even compare.

I hate both of those speeches done by FemShep. I thought they were terrible. And the notion that FemShep is the "icy-military hard-ass" is crazy. More like she forgot her coffee that morning. She oscilates between anger and nothing.  That is basically Renegade FemShep. To be honest, I've never seen Hale in anything were she was even remotely badass. She's either a good two-shoes, a wannabe-Paragon of perfection, or failing horribly at badassary. I've never seen her actually do a role wear I would say, "Yeah, that was badass." I can only think, "Yep, classic Hale. Doesn't know what they want to be or how to be themself. Failing at life with a few witty comments here and there."

Who ever think hale does a better job on any of the speeches in ME2 and ME3 needs to get their ears checked. There are even videos of them being compared.

Point is, the femshep speeches are bland (its like shes reading directly from a script, and she doesnt give a damn) where Meer actually makes them great

fixed that for you. You do realize you just described Meer's performance to a "T", right? The guy has about as much emotion as a brick wall.


I think Meer steps his game up in ME3. But Hale is way better in the first two games. And I don't even like Femshep.

Like him or not, MaleShep is at least consistent. I don't mind FemShep but some of her lines make me cringe from how ridiculously over the top they are.

I'm not even gonna touch the whole meer vs hale thing goin on here.

What I will say is that my mostly renegade femshep is the by far the most enjoyable playthrough I have ever done. And I would highly recommend it.
