I understand what you're saying but I strongly disagree.  From the very beginning I said I don't expect the world to react to my viewpoint or my words.  This is strictly about changing MY dialogue and allowing me to have a certain viewpoint.  I don't expect Bioware to write an entire Chantry-Qunari war or for mages to run screaming in terror everytime my Qunari warrior comes around. It's strictly about being able to roleplay in a completely different way from the other races.

I understand.   My own personal opinion of this though is similar to why I dislike Tallis as a character.   The whole, "I love the Qun", "The Qun is great" attitude in her speech and then when it comes to actions, she completely goes against most of what she espouses to believe.

I could see it be interesting if they tracked your responses to every situation, and then somewhere late in the game a group of Qunari show up and judge you.    If you stuck to the Qun in all things, they give you your next assignment.    If you failed to follow the Qun close enough, they proclaim you Tal-Vashoth and attack you.

Tallis DLC was kinda bad when comparing to Legacy DLC.

I personally would like my Inquisitor Qunari or not, be able to support the Qun and help by weakening the land of some sort. Not to mention Veil Tears are the perfect way for the Qun to get people to follow them because they can blame the cause simpling on magic, which I think would get them new converts.

I had been wanting to create a similar thread, but OP beat me to it. =P
What I would like to see is not a Qun-specific game, or even a devout Qun follower as the PC (since that's already been confirmed to not be the case for our RaceQunari). I just want to have the option to maybe not insult the Qun-followers, telling them their religion is stupid? Every DA game has contained relations with Qunari, but the most reasonable reply you can have is along the lines of "Yeah, well, I guess that's, like, your opinion, man."
So, I can play a devout, pray-at-every-Chantry-pay-surplus-tithie-and-kiss-the-Revered-Mother's-feet Andrastrian, or a balls-to-the-wall, freedom-fighting-for-Blood-Mages atheist/agnostic, but a Qun-sympathizing PC? BLASPHEMY! NEVER! YOU WILL FOLLOW ANDRASTRE, AND YOU WILL BE GRATEFUL!!
Qunari/Kossith/Vashoth/Oxmen have never played a bigger part in a Dragon Age installment, with the brand-spanking new option of playing as the race who culturally follows it. So why is our PC resigned to debunking that particular faith, but no other?

They would have to redo a huge amount of dialogue and story stuff for this to make sense.
Plus, female characters would not be allowed to follow the Qun.

I am completely okay with the option of being a devout Qunari, more options the better.

Why? If we're going to be something in the Qun, we'll likely be a Ben-Hassrath.

I want to follow the Qun in a Dragon Age game, whether its this game or a future installment. But if I do get to play as a Qunari, I'd much rather be an elven Qunari, and not as a qunari Qunari.

EXACTLY.  I've had the choice of worshipping the stone, praying to the maker, and cursing the Dread Wolf for both games.  Why are people so comfortable with Qunari getting the shaft?

They wouldn't have to redo anything or change anything storywise.  Again I'm not asking for the gameworld to react ot my choice of following the Qun.  And I'm not asking for other people's ability to roleplay qunari the same ways as elves and dwarves to be taken away.  What I'm asking for is the ADDITION of us having the ability IF WE CHOOSE to do so to follow the Qun.  That is strictly about adding in dialogue.  No cutscenes, no story changes, no additional actions.  Strictly dialogue and VO work.  Which is definitely work and money in and of itself.  But it's not on the scale of what you're talking about.

Even something like that would be awesome.  But in order to do that I would have to have the option of following the Qun.  If I'm stuck consorting with mages or forced to murder other members of the Qunari then of course that scene would be irrelevant.

It doesn't make any sense for the Inquisitor to be a devotee of the Qun, and is potentially lore-breaking.

I'd much rather the Qunari PC was a Tal-Vashoth than to have the writers try to come up with lore work arounds for why the PC can be female or an unleashed mage (or a female unleashed mage!) despite being a follower of the Qun.

Qunari are a good NPC race not a good race for a game a "choice" so no.

The Inquisition and the Qun are not compatible. Either you're member of the Qun or you're a member of the Inquisition.

And for the love of god, Sten does not count. He worked with  the Grey Wardens, not for  the Grey Wardens.

I suspect that Bioware hasn't even fleshed out the Qun well enough among themselves to be clear on what following it actually entails.

Can you create a hypothetical example for how this would work.... You're saying that you want a game where you can speak as though you support the Qun, but not have it alter people's reactions or have any sort of difference in the actual campaign.

What I have imagined in my head, based on your criteria, is a game experience that doesn't really make any sense.

The Qun gives people assigments. If the Inquisitor follows the Qun, it's likely due to a demand like Sten (e.g. end the Veil tears). Beyond that, there isn't any particular "thing" the Qun would do or demand, since everyone around the Inquisitor would be a bas. Except for maybe Iron Bull, but he doesn't look to be Tal-Vasoth (since he's kept his horns).

Basically, it reads to me like a request for some Qun specific dialogue where the Inquisitor says something that everyone then ignores.

I suppose I could imagine my qunari could agree with certain factors of the Qun, just not enough for him to keep adhering to it. While still respecting the philosophy, he knows he disagrees with too much to be accepted in qunari society and so left Par Vollen without joining the Tal Vashoth.

This is the sort of thing I can imagine about my character and hope I get enough dialogue options to sort of help with that impression. But I'm going to harbour a guess and say it's going to have to stay in just my imagination.

You do not "choose" the Qun. You are either of the Qun, or you are not.

"Tal Vashoth" isn't some club that you join. It's a label assigned to you by the Qunari when you disagree with any aspect of their teachings.

There's a thread by Mary Kirby where she fleshes it out a lot. I can try to dig it up if you want. (I'd just link directly, but the bookmark's on my previous laptop.)

More specifically, its a label for qunari who chose to become ex-qunari. Or, more specifically, its a label for Vashoth (ex-Qunari) who become violent towards the Qun. (Someone who falls into one of these situations but who was never a qunari is a "bas.")

How about something similar to Tallis and her situation with the Qun?

Sorry. I probably should have specified. I meant without joining other former qunari who have pretty much completely rejected the Qun and are hostile to all who follow it. As joining up with such a group would probably influence the character's mind to be even less inclined to agree with any part of the Qun than before.

I'm not so sure about this. The Qun is still something that is presented to be somewhat mysterious and difficult to understand...at least I find it so. Having the option to play as if you follow it, means that the player would have to be given enough information to understand it. I don't think that is a good direction to take. We are still learning about it and the philosophy in the game.

And regardless, if you are going to be taking control of a sizable portion of Thedas, wouldn't the massive presence of the Qun be a huge change in story direction? To me it sounds like importing for future games would be as divergent as Synthesis would be in Mass Effect.
