You guys can't be serious. Viacom owns SyFy, and the video hasn't aired yet. They can do what they want..they own it. Calm down.

He's right.

Clearly Viacom and EA never talk to each other on a corporate level and don't share any corporate interests.

I just went on there and the only video that is blocked is the Syfy one. Most likely Viacom owns Syfy. If the other videos were blocked earlier it must have been a mistake.

edit: Deathcultarm got to it seconds earlier than me.

It would have been funny if they had claimed rights over all the Mass Effect 2 videos and had them deleted. **** storm would have been epic.

Viacom doesn't own EA.

They own GameTrailers.

Again Viacom got exclusivity from EA to host the Sci vs Fi online it seems so it was in both Viacom and EA's interest to ban the video. Viacom were just the ones to issue it to Youtube. That's all.

what has Viacom have anything to do with the Sci vs Fi video and wouldn't you think that bioware devs would be aware of any agreement? lol

Well just off the top of my head I would assume that Viacom is producing the video and suppling the A-B list celebrities to give their feelings on the game.

The issue is actually that Viacom owns gametrailers.com. The video that was on the youtube channel was a duplicate of the one on gametrailers. One assumes GT had some sort of exclusivity deal, so Viacom asked youtube to take it down.

It is even possible that all the objected to was the watermark, so EA could remove that and re-upload it.

This is a non-issue. Who cares.
