Spiders in DA:I

I don't know if it's the sound set they have (which is terrifying) or the fact that they tend to drop from the goddamn ceiling, usually close enough to the camera so I get nice, horrifying look at their under belly, but it's just ****ing rude.
At this point I wonder who at BioWare has the creepy spider fetish to cling to this horrible blemish on the good name of Dragon Age. A pox on their goddamn house, whoever it is.

I HATE THEM, AND I HATE YOU DA TEAM PERSON WHO BOUGHT SPIDERS IN THIS FRANCHISE
The only game that did it right is Dragon's dogma

OK, so why don't people like the giant spider? I really don't get the hate. Is it arachnophobia or something along those lines? /:
For most people, I think it's arachnophobia. Others might not like how they ambush the party.
I think that for some people things will be worse with the new engine, since spider might be more realistic, both in appearance and movement.
Not to mention that we migh even get a new type of spider, other than the common one and the varterral.

you going to say the same about Mass Effect?renjility wrote...
I don't have a problem with fighting spiders pe se, but I do hate the way they suddenly appear with that sound. Every damned spider attack comes with an increased chance of a heart attack. I'm not playing a horror game, so go away with with those cheap shock moments.

Strange opinion I know, but thats how I feel.
Edit: Would agree that the sounds they make is more scary then seeing them, but I whouldn't whant it removed.

I don't recall a similar enemy type in the ME series? Husks were creepy, but they didn't have a habit of jumping down from the ceiling.

I'm with you there. It's not the spider itself, it's that damn sound. It seems like it's actually louder than every other ambient sound in the game. Even other enemies.renjility wrote...

When I played as a Ranger in DAO, I'd half jump out of my seat every time I summoned a Spider, because of that freaking sound!

They did in ME2, ME3 had many attempts at cheap scare moments especially with banshees
The ORIGINAL adjundants (back then pariahs) were meant to be horror-like enemies too

Those critters clearly had 'joie d'evil' written all over them

This is also why I put my sofa directly against the wall, by the way...
