I've got a touch of the arachnophobia. They're disgusting little ****s and I hate hate hate them. Oddly enough though, video game spiders don't bug me. Except for the Dragon Age spiders. They're the ****ing Devil. With a capital D.

I don't know if it's the sound set they have (which is terrifying) or the fact that they tend to drop from the goddamn ceiling, usually close enough to the camera so I get nice, horrifying look at their under belly, but it's just ****ing rude.

At this point I wonder who at BioWare has the creepy spider fetish to cling to this horrible blemish on the good name of Dragon Age. A pox on their goddamn house, whoever it is.

Let's compromise with small spiders that can overwhelm again, en masse.

Giant spiders are a staple in fantasy. Pretty sure we will see them in caves, in DA3. May as well just start preparing yourselves for them.

Spiders are a cliché, unimaginative ****ty ennemies, and the person in the DA team that came up with this should be tortured, hanged and his house burned down

I HATE THEM, AND I HATE YOU DA TEAM PERSON WHO BOUGHT SPIDERS IN THIS FRANCHISE

The only game that did it right is Dragon's dogma

I don't have a problem with fighting spiders pe se, but I do hate the way they suddenly appear with that sound. Every damned spider attack comes with an increased chance of a heart attack. I'm not playing a horror game, so go away with with those cheap shock moments.

Arachnids are awesome. Now that we have a larger playground and more environments they should throw in some variety: Giant - scorpions, whip scorpions, ticks.

I want an anthropomorphic fox with bat wings as a pet. Oh. Um. Nevermind.

OK, so why don't people like the giant spider? I really don't get the hate. Is it arachnophobia or something along those lines? /:

For most people, I think it's arachnophobia. Others might not like how they ambush the party.
I think that for some people things will be worse with the new engine, since spider might be more realistic, both in appearance and movement.
Not to mention that we migh even get a new type of spider, other than the common one and the varterral.

I have arachnophobia most for the big hairy ones, but I would be sad if they removed the spiders in DA:I, it makes the game more satisfying that we can kill those giant 8 legged freaks, and say "I am not afraid of you!". And the fact its a graphic engine like Frostbite makes it more fun and scary.

Strange opinion I know, but thats how I feel.

Edit: Would agree that the sounds they make is more scary then seeing them, but I whouldn't whant it removed.

I don't recall a similar enemy type in the ME series? Husks were creepy, but they didn't have a habit of jumping down from the ceiling.

Giant centipedes and cockroaches would be a nicer alternative.

Unless they're used in a Souls' game. Then they're ****ing terrifying.

I'm with you there. It's not the spider itself, it's that damn sound. It seems like it's actually louder than every other ambient sound in the game. Even other enemies.

When I played as a Ranger in DAO, I'd half jump out of my seat every time I summoned a Spider, because of that freaking sound! Posted Image

They did in ME2, ME3 had many attempts at cheap scare moments especially with banshees

The ORIGINAL adjundants (back then pariahs) were meant to be horror-like enemies too

Jumping spiders are so precious. If they ever implement a spider pet, I would love a giant one of these instead of the typical tarantula types.

I rather liked the little (and not so little) fellas in 'Eight-legged freaks'

Those critters clearly had 'joie d'evil' written all over them .

This is also why I put my sofa directly against the wall, by the way....
