What are your guys theories/thoughts on giving or not giving the Shadow Broker this info - and how it'll play out in ME2?

I imagine the Shadow Broker will give you information you need to either leave Cerberus' debt or to destroy the organization from the inside.

Hell, I'll actively sell him info while I'm under their employ just to screw with them.

I hope it hurts them. It was one of the few Renegade decisions I made...and I loved it. :bandit:

I didn't want to deal with the Shadow Broker at all since I was playing pure Paragon.

Shadow Broker = Renegade, hmm?

Then again, he might've been the better of the two choices to side with here.

But I admit, knowing that Cerberus is playing a bigger role in the next game, I'd make the same decision again to not risk getting on TIM's bad side.

He's talking about the side quest in ME1 when you find cerberus data and the shadow broker wants it and you have the choice on giving it to him or not.

D-I-T-T-O

I hope this comes back, along with the Kahoku mission, and blows up in TIM's face. And that I'll be the one that lights the fuse.

Well I'm hoping that it will play some part in ME2 and not just be completely forgotten. What upsets me is that according to plot descriptions the citadel/council could give a **** about the Reaper invasion and yet Cerberus cares? The group I encountered in Mass Effect that was Cerberus amounted to a bunch of mad scientists only interested in their own experiments, which included experimenting on humans. O.o Soo I'm a bit confused, but like I said I'm hoping that they'll actually take note of the choices I made in regards to Cerberus instead of ignoring it completely. We'll see.

Cerberus cares because they are all about human dominance in the galaxy. If human colonies are disappearing, then they want to stop it because it must be aliens...anyway I did not give up the info because I did not know who was on the other end of the line (i.e. The Shadow Broker).

I don't care about their motives this time around, all I know is if I'm given the option I'll dismantle them. Its time they answer for all those annoying side missions they put me through! I'm looking at you Admiral Kahoku...

I wouldn't want anyone to get their hands on that data. Think of all the wrong people and what they might do with it.

I wonder if

SPOILERS

It helps you get Liara out of the Shadow Brokers employ.

Assuming she wants out. Maybe like a "You did us this favor, we'll do you one."

This will be interesting because I hate Cerberus, but (SPOILERS from comic) the Shadow Broker is trying to sell your body to the Collectors.

I roleplay differently. I roleplay as a different version of myself, rather than as someone else. I don't have alternate histories like renegade playthroughs and paragon ones. I have one playthrough in which I made the decisions I thought were best. That happened to put me at full Paragon with an ever so small slither of Renegade.

As for why I made that comment, see here:

I certainly hope it has some sort of impact. It's a small moment when mass1 is looked at as a whole, but it comes somewhat out of the blue the first time you get it, and I remember being intrigued and hoping it would be followed up on, only to be disappointed at the time.

Liara in some sort of indentured servitude and perhaps Ashley in danger...it seems saving your loved ones is high on your list in this game.

I see The Shadow Broker being good in the end. Or a necessary evil

I think the Illusive Man and Shadow Broker are gonna end up trying to destroy each other

Why? Doesn't seem to further either of their goals. Cerberus needs information, and the Shadow Broker seems to want money. They're not REALLY on one another's warpath.

I'm not handing it over after the Shadow's Broker's "Shady Dealings" with the Collectors.I wouldn't anyway, My main Playtrough is a basically Cold and Calculating Shep, Human Life is worth as much as dirt to him,So I'll have no quarrells working for (Or Joining if Possible) Cerebreus.

Hopefully TIM lets us gets things done without the politics the Alliance and Council bog us down with.

TIM is neither apolitical nor nihilist. He's VERY political.

I'm guessing giving the Shadow Broker network the info will mostly get you in the Shadow Broker's good graces for a sidequest, rather than actually affect Cerberus in the main story.

My best guess is that your favor will be repayed in some way if you sold the info to the shadow broker. Because the point of a future favor was emphasized during the convo with him. What this favor will entail I have no idea. But I would guess that at some point truths will be revealed and a decision will have to be made about Cerberus and I would assume that would be the best place for the favor.
