So I guess everyone'll just play as a Qunari as soon as the game's released...

I am thankful they added Qunari though. A choice not taken still adds value, I believe and it'll be a great choice for a lot of other people. Dwarf will prob be my second character just like it was in DA:O. Elf male first then dwarven female.

My second playthrough will probably be a Qunari Rogue.

As for myself, I'd definitely play as a Qunari (probably rogue) at some point, although I'm not sure if it would be on the first playthrough. If nothing else, playing as a Qunari might be a good way to test out the limits of DAI's reactivity to your choice of race and class.

It has been confirmed that the Inquisitor/the Inguisition is not connected with the Chantry. And I expect he would feel the same as a human killing the local bandits, thugs, and marauders.GDog89 wrote...
Im Personally wondering how a Qunari would feel when it comes down to help or slaying his own people or even being part of a Chantry

Nope. Most people tend to play as human. In DAO, only 5% of the players even picked Dwarves. Now I certainly don't mind having a Qunari romance (possibly one where you have the option to lead the Qunari astray from the Qun). But as to what I'm gonna play is, it's gonna be human. Otherwise, it's hard to relate to the protagonist.VampireSoap wrote...
:lol:I bet most people won't even check out the other optionsHumans? Boring. Elves? Too alien too ugly. Dwarves? One Sandal is enough for the whole series.
Edit: A poll!! Miss Trista Hawke just began a poll to see which race will be players' first choice!! Why didn't I think of that? Come take a look at the results!

Why would I want to play as an oversized bull/cow?

I am interested in a mage Qunari, because I think playing against the stereotype or expectations of the game world would be fun. A free qunari, and a mage at that, who will have a free mage perspective and fight against the torture the Qun puts mages through and the imprisonment that Chantry does.
Can't see myself playing a human, even as a mage or rogue, it doesn't truly play to my desire for high fantasy the same way as playing a different race/species does.

I personally never understood the huge demand on having Qunari as a playable race. I honestly believe part of it was just some people wanting to simply complain about another thing the previous games didn't have. I mean if having all these race options really have their own personal POV on the story, then I'm all for it. I just hope having these choices actually mean something, rather than Bioware just throwing us a bone.
Sorry...but it'll probably be a bone

There are no origins. The Devs have also said that the races will be treated differently thoughout the story(ie a Qunari Inquisitor will encounter more opposition than even an elf one) and assuming they get multiple VOs for each race, the dialogue should fit each one.VampireSoap wrote...

Yeah, that's what I feared. Which is a big reason why I'm typically a human in these kinds of games (Dragon Age/Skyrim/etc.). I guess I hold a certain expectation if I'm going to go on an "epic adventure" in the shoes of another race, and constantly seeing only minimal changes, if that. Don't get me wrong, I love RPG's more than anything; but if I'm going to go out and experience something different from a human, I want to "feel" the difference.
