So I guess everyone'll just play as a Qunari as soon as the game's released...

Indeed...it seems this obnoxious anorexic trend will be continueing if thats any indication. I must say I am disapointed. I know Bioware typically fully supports female empowerment, but I can't shake the feeling this "artistic direction" is meant to pander to men.

I still hope it's only this art that looks so ridiculous (male Qunari's biceps is larger than female Qunari's waist, plus she doesn't appear to have any muscles - she's just tall, like anorexic model).

Im pretty sure that concept art is from origins  but wasn't implemented due to engine limitations

I thought about playing an elf like in origin but now I think I will try an Qunari mage and enjoy the hate... :)

At least I hope for hate, I mean... Qunari... mage... Come on...

I most likely play as a human female first and then move on to the other races.

Well this is a little harder to decide, I might play aQunari first if i can be a mage and if not I'll be an elf. I might also play a dwarf for the first time since they look better in dragon age 3 in my opinion. But I'll be playing them all that's for sure i just gotta figure out in what order.

Yep since we shall definitely be a tal vashoth I will be a qunari mage or rouge depending on how i decide to roleplay

Not "definitely" we could be a qunari who was never exposed to the Qun(would that make us a Basvashoth?) or we could just be a be a Vashoth.

I chose definitely because the only way for a qunari to not be exposed to the qun is to be a tevinter slave and that doesn't seem likely

I don't know, a background of being an escaped Tevinter slave doesn't seem that unlikely and pretty interesting(granted Fenris kinda already did that). They could also have you be an orphan who was raised outside of the Qun. Since I believe that Mages of each race get a different background than Rogues and Warriors, maybe Mages can be escaped Tevinter slaves and Rogues and Warriors can be (Tal-)Vashoth?

Well, here's as goes:

Female Human Warrior first, just to continue my fandom.>_>

BUUUTT If I didn't have the fandom rolling and was going off of my very first DAO character's save, The female dalish elf Syreil, I would go female Elf.. or... Qunari <3333

ELF OR QUNARI.
WHY BIOWARE DO YOU MAKE ME CHOOSE?!

I'd be interested in having a Ben-Hassrath agent background option. Mark of the Assassin establishes that they're hidden across Thedas, and events such as the Mage-Templar and Orleasian Civil Wars may be of interest to the Triumvirate back in Par Vollen.

I can see the escaped angle slave of you being the descendants of captured qunari prisoners of war and still slightly exposed to qunari culture

Exactly. We'd probably have some knowledge of the language and culture(though since it has been a few generations and we haven't had direct contact with the Qun, we wouldn't have the urge to follow it, but still might hold some of its sentiments) which would give us some unique dialogue options and views.

I am a Servant of the Maker generally in my DA RP's so i would assume i would go Classic Human during my first initial playthrough with a decided pro templar outlook.

So ahem to address your question.

For the Glory of the Maker the Heretics MUST DIE!

And to adress your statement:

Is the view of those who follow their "Maker" so narrow and ignorant to the world that they can not tell the difference between those who would follow the Qun and those who would oppose and rebel against it just as much as they? If your "Chantry" wishes to spread its "Chant" fully, you will have to accept the Vashoth and ackowledge their difference from the Qunari.

Well, that was fun.

I mostly always play human but I will try Qunari in inquisition for sure. I've never been able to relate to dwarves, and I don't enjoy the DA paradigm for elves, but the Qunari are pretty awesome.

I'll make a dwarf and a Qunari just to check them out - then I'll play through as a human - then I'll load the elf screen and shut the game down.

People hardly choose a race in DA because of the small bonuses they start with. Besudes, a qunari would present a knew way in which to see Thedas abd its people.

I find the Qunari culture interesting yet repellent at the same time, and they don't appeal to me aesthetically: I don't like the bodybuilder-on-steroids look at all. The females will probably look better, but then the huge difference between the sexes remind me of Draenai. The one appealing aspect for me is the chance to play an outsider, since they will be cut off from their own traditions and will be perceived as an outsider by the average Orlesian or Fereldan. Then again, anyone who isn't human will be an outsider to some extent anyway. If I play Qunari I'm guessing a third or fourth playthrough.
