What do you mean like always? In DAO, you had a choice, and most people chose to play as human noble. But the second most popular warden was the Elven mage. And in DA2, you're stuck with Hawke. There was no choice at all...That's not enough data to predict that most people will ALWAYS play as a human male

I plan to play all the races. I also have the imagination to enjoy playing humans as well.

they were sorely put out because dragon age offers queer romance options, but no way to hide them from the poor oppressed straight males whose little hearts just shrivel at the mere implications of a grossy queer character

it was actually really funny and i may not be the biggest fan of gaider but he certainly did shut them up quick, it was impressive

Personally, and I'm pretty sure most people on BSN agree with me here, I think the people who completely skip the CC without even thinking about picking a certain race/class are much more strange than the ones who sit with it for hours trying to make the perfect character. And I'm far from one of those people aswell.

People on the BSN are a statistical aberration.

And I went with the default female Hawke and Shepard. If I were a dude, I'd probably not bother with the CC at all.

I have no idea yet what I want to play. I just WANT to play. I never have a set roll in games that give me the choice to choose until I'm sitting in front of the CC. Even in DA2 when all I had was class choice, I played through the demo for each class and then when it came time to make my Hawke, It took a lot of thought to choose which I wanted to play first.

My canon Warden is a City Elf Rogue. I also have a Human Warrior, a Dalish Rogue, a two seperate Dwarf Rogues, and a Human Mage.(Str rogue was my go to for DA:O).

My canon Hawke is a Female Mage. She plays off the back of my City Elf Rogue.
My Male Mage plays off of my Human Mage from DA:O.
My Female Warrior plays off the back of my Dalish Rogue.
My Female Rogue plays off of my Human Warrior save ( or my Aeducan, who I may set as a warrior later for reasons).

As for the next game, which ever race I pick, will probably be a Warrior first (depending upon how each class feels in the demo), and play off my FemHawke Mage/City Elf Rogue Universe. All subsequent playthroughs will be set up based on an eeni-meeni-miney-mo system of who haven't I played yet, and their CLASS will be set by the classes of the previous two MC's.

The race though? That'll only be determined once I get in and get a good look around.


(To be fair I'm looking forward to having a kick ass lady Qunari. I'm a sucker for non-tiny badass ladies. Just ask my Draenei Priest, Paladin, and Shaman, Night Elf Druid, and my Orc Warrior)

I was planning on a dwarf first, but now? Qunari all the way. For what it's worth, I've long maintained that Sten was the most interesting party member in DAO due to his layers of dialogue and different world outlook, and that Act 2 of DA2 was the strongest due to the interaction with the Arishok.

The other thing I liked about Sten is that he didn't act as much of an encyclopedia on his races culture, origins and all that. Stens way of thinking wasn't "hey player dude, this is everything you need to know about me and the other qun guys", but "figure it out, genius". Refreshing to see a Bioware character who isn't like some sort of an open book

Human are boring,how many of us have boring lives?We have to work,pay taxes,see the doctor when your body starts acting up,take care of the kids etc;Most of us are pretty boring.
