I wouldn't say PC is obsolete while some exclusives are good they are never as good as third party games, which you can get really cheap and easily from steam.

On topic I would say wait a little until we get an idea of what specs next gen games will need round about to run.

PC gaming platform is obsolete. You will never find games like The Last of Us or inFamous on PC.

Buy PS4, it will be released soon and cost less than a top-notch video card for PC :)

The Last of Us was very good. However, Infamous was an over-rated garbage IMO.

I have no idea how either of them convinced you that the PC was obsolete.

Show me at least one good PC exclusive game released in the last 6 years.

How much do you really know about inFamous series?

I've played both, very excellent games, but just "exclusives" doesn't mean PC is dead.  Most games are better suited for the PC, like the Dragon Age series or Half Life, MMO's for example.  Skyrim with mods, I can go on.

What does PC exclusives have to do with anything?

I've played Infamous 1 and Infamous 2 to know they are crap.

This thread is someone who needs advice on PC hardware. Go troll somewhere else if you want to start your silly platform war.

Of course, LoU kills the PC.

It's the Holy Grail which saves gaming. Probably Jesus reborn.

The emboldened sentence reeks of rationalization.

Just fix your video card. If part of it moves when it shouldn't, use duct tape. If part of it doesn't move when it should, use WD-40.

PC games are obsolete.... That's why people make mods for games that completely obliterate their console counterparts.

A guy with a PC mod for ME3 will blow my 360 version to hell

Ask yourself which platform you'd rather play New Vegas on: PC or console? The answer is obvious.

I saw a 6450 for $30 the other day, and there's plenty of NVIDIA low-end junk floating around. Or should I just bite the bullet and buy something good now?

IOW, how low can I go? My gaming needs aren't all that intensive -- I don't play most modern shooters, for instance.

Neither AMD nor nVIDIA offers much that you'd want for less than $100, save for special sale deals, and then you have to go with Newegg for the best of those.  The reason is they are both making integrated video that is better at the low end, and just don't upgrade their low end any more, just add the latest Dx-Whatever functions, but still too slow.  The HD 6450 and HD 5450 are essentially the same, not as good as the last two (terrible) Intel video solutions given away free inside the current Intel processors.

Quite often the fence-sitting Geforce GT 640 and Radeon HD 6570 show up priced around $60 at Newegg.  These aren't full-blown gaming cards, although they do beat the Intel integrated parts quite handily.

You most definitely do not want any Geforce "n10", "n20", or "n30", all of which are very low end, worse than Intel's best freebie, when it comes to gaming.

I didn't find a decent version of an HD 6570, this $70 HD 6670 (after rebate) is a nice bargain:

www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx

nVIDIA pricing isn't at all competitive in the lower end, most often.  The best after-rebate price seems to be $80 for the GT 640:

www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx

I often forget how primitive this forum's features and functions are.  It seems stupid and counter-productive to force the use of a special command just for a common URL Link!

I'd be a PC gamer if I could afford it. Unfortunately, while I have opulence, I don't have enough to really be able to adequately keep up.

That said, I also simply do not have the technical or computer know-how, nor the time to acquire such knowledge.

So I stick to consoles since they're more easily accessible.

The choice is obvious. Get a Vectrex. Retrogaming is by far your best bet.

And I gave a very nice advice about  PC hardware: don't use it for gaming :)

Somehow I find inFamous series equally good as DA series and ME series.

What does PC exclusives have to do with anything? The absence of good PC exclusives indicates publishers' low interest in PC as a gaming platform.

One more thing, if you use Newegg a lot, you might want to consider getting Shoprunner.

It's $79 a year and you get free 2nd-day shipping on almost everything on Newegg. Sometimes they offer free 1-year memberships to new members. So if you like shop on Newegg and eat Domino's, Shoprunner is something to consider.

Game modding is not a healthy practice.
I believe any kind of modding should be prohibited, or even better - made impossible to perform at all.

Hahaha okay, before I thought you were just the typical "PC is dead" doomsayer but now it's obvious you're just a troll and a terrible one at that.

Try harder.
