Game modding is not a healthy practice.
I believe any kind of modding should be prohibited, or even better - made impossible to perform at all.

Yet, you're so willing to Mod humanity with Synthesis, AHAHAHAH.

Sounds more like you trying to take something away from others because you can't do it

Believe me, if modding will be impossible to make no one will ever regret that. People will just enjoy the games as they are. And no one will ever put their accounts at risk to be banned in multiplayer because of modded eye color of their characters. And no one will ever want to modify a game's ending... Perfect! :)

Then Fallout 2 would be an unplayable, broken mess, and there never would have been a Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas.

Skyrim fan mods have fixed the Dagger One Hand Damage Bonus Bug from Skyrim, and after two years with over 5 patches, Bethesda has STILL not fixed that glitch for consoles.

And it would generally considered to be beyond arrogant to tell other people that only you know what would make them happy.

I'm 100% confident that I know what makes me happy better than you do.

And the ability to mod games to fix bugs and improve them makes me happy. :D

Seival.

KOTOR II needed the Restoration Mod.  Skyrim has a lot of mods that fix quest bugs, make the game look even better, flow better, etc.  Even Mass Effect, which I know this is where your argument is based off of, not "mods" itself since you just said "And no one will ever want to modify a game's ending... Perfect! :)" just shows that you're specifically just pointing out the ME3 ending mod and not actually criticizing mods themselves.

You PC game and you have no interest in Battlefield or Planetside 2, Metro last light, Crysis or anything???

I am a PC gamer and I don't play those games. I simply have no interest. Why is it so strange to you?

Anyway, OP, just buy that temporary card and perhaps save up for a decent new rig. I did it and I am really happy with what I currently have. It's not the best, but it does what is expected of it.

I wouldn't call those good games.

StarCraft 2 dominates strategy games sector, and SC2 itself is just a silly game.

I'll take Planetside 2 serious when the devs learn how to patch right.

Doubt that will happen though.

And learn to use a controller? Deal with the smaller effective screen size? Eww.

Seriously, let's not even go there.

I was just messing with you but what do you mean by smaller screen size? How big is your monitor?

Sorry .... I've been spending so much time on the ME3 story board that I can't detect that sort of thing anymore. (Even the crazy statements there are completely sincere)

It's not so much that my PC monitor is big as that I sit closer to it. I did the math and I'd need a gigantic screen to get the same size visual field in my living room. I could get that down to around 45" if I rearranged the furniture a lot, but that configuration wouldn't work well for other purposes. There's a reason console games have oversized interfaces and text.

@ Gorath Alpha: wondered if you were still around. Thanks. The local Micro Center has some Diamond 6570s for $40 after $20 rebate,

From my experience, a replacement system seems to be required about every 5 yrs or so.

My first system was Frankensteined together by a friend; no problems at all, but became obsolete in 5 yrs. The second system served well with only a couple of issues; was refurbished and lasted 8 yrs before games and software required better gear. Then on-line shopping cost me, and two systems were required to get the job done, but only lasted 4 yrs before I became aggravated at the increased number of issues.

Shop for a system much like a car; plan for your own goals be it durability, longevity, or performance.

Depends on your budget. I recently did an A10 build for my friend under 400$ and it's pretty beastly for an APU set up. I was surprised to say the least.

And then once you're ready to buy dedicated graphics you can just update anytime.  That was my goal for when I designed the build for her, low cost + easy upgrade when next gen is flowing.
