What would be your reaction if Bioware announced that there wouldn't be any romances in DA:I

My respect for Bioware would increase.

You would respect a company for removing a feature that is one of the reasons their games are so popular?

So this game is popular because you can plow pixels? When did these games become a Japanese erotic adventure game?

Wow, as opposed to talking to pixels? Or stabbing pixels? Or shooting pixels? I like the very stupid implication that there's somehow content in the game that isn't based on pixels? It is based on magic, then? Magical content that is somehow transmitted visually to the players brain without pixels?

...

...how do you function?

Archetypes are not cliches. How many cheerleaders does it take counter that simple point? Four? Four cheerleaders?

That is true, but you're saying Bioware doesn't do cliches and might I say... often.

Indeed, a minority of people outside the internet even bother doing the romances.

I strongly doubt that, on the simple grounds that romancing in all three games triggers a trophy/achievement. That alone is enough fuel for plenty of gamers to do it.

I would be a bit surprised, but not disappointed.

You'd think there'd be fewer people making such very silly responses to me if that were true.

Archetypes are the foundation for cliches.

To me, my favourite aspect of Bioware games have always been their relationships, regardless of romance. To take it out completely, I wouldn't agree to it. Though, if the relationships are done well enough and more importantly, for what they're trying to achieve for that specific game, then it might work.

"Every fan is a violent, murderous lunatic. Except me! I'm fine."

That's how you sound.

If romance was absent from DA:I, I would be disappointed, and I'd express my displeasure on the forum. But Id probably buy it anyway because I'm invested in the series now.

If they took same-sex romances out but left heterosexual romances in, THAT would stop me from purchasing it.

No, archetypes are archetypes. And this little sneer I see from the BSN that BioWare creates only stupid childish, 'cliche' content and real, mature stories create real characters is just ridiculous.

But anyway I would still buy the game without romances, Romances are interesting for roleplaying but they aren't why I play DA plus if it's like DA2 where none of the romances were really even that interesting I could happily go without.

This option should be implemented solely to rustle innumerable jimmies

Archetypes are universal characters that are found in a variety forms of media.  They frequently give rise to cliches by their very nature

I would still play the game, but I would be upset while playing, so I don't know how well that would work out

Wait, who's sneering?

Don't be silly, David, and stop putting words in other people's mouths.

That wasn't my intention, but well, I never participated in those angry campaigns agaisn't ME3 ending and DA2, so... yeah... I consider myself sane compared to some folk around this forums

We're clearly in a very stupid place if we're at the point of claiming something is bad because it's been done before. All stories share elements. Reoccuring archetypes and themes reoccur for a reason. None of that is 'cliche.'
